We’re now just a month away from finding out who will represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv. The six finalists will sing-it-out in the country’s national final ESC 2017 Entscheidungsshow on 5 February. Today SRF has revealed the running order, which you can see below. The German speaking broadcaster also confirmed that Sven Epiney will once again host the final.

Entscheidungsshow 2017 running order

1. Nadya – “The Fire In The Sky”
2. Ginta Biku – “Cet air là”
3. Michèle – “Two Faces”
4. Freschta – “Gold”
5. Shana Pearson – “Exodus”
6. Timebelle – “Apollo”

The winner will be decided by televoters alone. Sebalter, Switzerland’s Eurovision 2014 representative, will appear as a guest performer with his new single “Weeping Willow”.

ESC 2017 Entscheidungsshow poll results (as of January 5)

Last month, we asked our readers who should win Switzerland’s ESC 2017 Entscheidungsshow. Thus far we’ve received a total of 1,464 votes. Storming into the lead with over half the vote is 2015 runner-up Timebelle.

1. Timebelle — “Apollo” 51.3% (751 votes)
2. Ginta Biku — “Cet Air La” 17.9% (262 votes)
3. Freschta — “Gold” 10.52% (154 votes)
4. Nadya — “The Fire in the Sky” 8.13% (119 votes)
5. Michèle — “Two Faces” 7.24% (106 votes)
6. Shana Pearson — “Exodus” 4.91% (72 votes)

The poll is still open. Be sure to vote for your favourites if you haven’t yet done so.

Who do you want to win this year’s Entscheidungsshow final? Can Switzerland’s revamped selection process turn things around for the ailing Eurovision nation?

@Colin – it wouldn’t be much better if the same applied for a male singer 🙂

However – I believe televoters can diffenrate the important for the unimportant. Vote for the best song. Not anything else. Most people are not silly (only some :-p)

I must admit I fail to gain so much enthusiasm for this NF. ONLY 6 songs. And not much musical diversity, or very “daring” songs. Seems a bit generic.

The Swiss pop / rock scene surely have better things on offer?

Can we watch live the national final?

Also this probably means that the cover round is scrapped, even though the show will be running from 20:15 to 21:50. I wonder how this will go down.

Freschta is not Albanian, she is originally from Afghanistan.

It’s obvious that SRF wants Timebelle to win – last in the running order (right after the weakest song, “Exodus”) and 100 % televote (they won the televote two years ago). I’m sure they will come up with an amazing performance, so I think there’s a good chance we will see them in Kyiv.

“Apollo” should win. But I’d love it if a surprise were to happen. Good luck everyone in Switzerland. 🙂
P.S. Vincent Gross should come back.

If Ginta really works on her live performance and vocal for the final, I think she’s got a shot. But Timebelle has the strongest song out of the six (I hated “Singing About Love” but I love “Apollo”) this year and deserves to win.

Also, I can’t wait to see Sebalter’s performance, he was my absolute favorite from 2014

@Polegend Godgarina

Freschta is Albanian? 😮

With all the Albanians that live in Switzerland, I’m afraid Freschta is going to win since it’s 100% televote… and that’ll be another last place in the semi for the Swiss. Timebelle NEEDS to win.

Televote only, ha? Then it all depends on two things:

1. Which woman will have the best live vocals.

2. Which woman will have the most flashy/sexy/extravagant performance.

As I stated, all 6 six songs are somewhere in the realm of ‘okay’, so the performance will probably be a deciding factor even more than usual.

Nadya on first…hopefully that is good. When are we going to hear the studio versions?

Also, I believe that using televote only is stupid, when Eurovision itself doesn’t.

Well, well… The luck of the draw. But as I said before, I think they left a much better song off the final 6.

Obviously Timbelle has by far the greatest chance to win, but I also leave Shana as a back-up option if she has better live this time. Ginta has worse slot, but I wouldn’t bet against her either.

Please not Apollo! It’s dated and boring. I’m supporting Ginta because with a revamp it can be great. Even though she’s second, there’s only 6 so it doesn’t make much difference.

Great that my favourite is performing last. I still think Ginta has victory chances though.

Timebelle or Freschta, Gold should be revamped, but her voice is amazing! I like Switzerland this year.(well 2 songs of 6)

SRF knows Timebelle must win, they didn’t place her last for nothing.
