¡Hola! On January 12 Spain will finally stage its Eurocasting wildcard round to determine who will progress to the final of Objetivo Eurovision 2017. Everything is ready at Ciudad de la Imagen in Pozuelo de Alarcón in Madrid where the online concert will take place. The stream will be live — and so will our nerves and excitement!

Fruela, Javián and LeKlein will sing their entries live one-after-the-other for the first time in a bid to win over televoters… all over the world! Yes, you got it right. RTVE confirmed that anyone is eligible to vote, whether you’re in Spain or not. Voting is free and can be done through the Eurocasting website or on RTVE’s official Eurovision app. The catch is that only one vote will be allowed per IP address, to avoid mass-voting.

And who do our international readers think should win? We wanted to find out, so for the past three weeks we’ve been asking y’all to vote in our poll. After counting a total of 1,934 votes, we can now reveal that LeKlein is the clear favourite among our international audience to slay her way to the final.

EUROCASTING FINAL: OUR TOP 3

1. LEKLEIN – “OUCH!”

The “Ouch!” singer topped the poll by a huge margin, scooping up 861 votes. That’s almost half (44.52%) of all votes cast! She also earned a respectable 6.38 with the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of musical unprofessionals — with the highest vote (8) given by wiwiblogger William who thinks that her “electro ballad about perseverance is catchy, on-trend and well-produced.”

2. JAVIÁN – “NO SOMOS HÉROES”

The edgy rocker finished second in our poll with 746 votes, or 38.57% of all those cast. Our Wiwi Jury gave him the best score among the three finalists, 6.84, with Bernardo writing that his “No somos héroes” is probably, up to now, the most fun song in national final season across Europe.

3. FRUELA – “LIVE IT UP”

In a distant third place is Fruela with 327 votes — just 16.91% of the overall vote. In recent days he revamped his entry to include mostly Spanish lyrics, but that was not enough to convince our Wiwi Jury who awarded “Live it up” a 5.25. Chris spoke very frankly about it, admitting that he fails to see why the Spanish jurors opted to send this through over much better options in the web casting.

WHO SHOULD MAKE OBJETIVO EUROVISION? (POLL RESULTS)

  1. LeKlein – “Ouch!” 44.52% (861 votes)
  2. Javián – “No somos héroes” 38.57% (746 votes)
  3. Fruela – “Live it up” 16.91% (327 votes)

Total Votes: 1,934

The final stage of Eurocasting starts at 20:00 CET on Thursday evening. You can watch it live on RTVE.

@MarioMario: Do you mean ‘fuss’ (not fuzz)? 🙂
I think Javian will go through.

If “OUCH” does get through, I really doubt it’ll do well in the Spanish final…it’s another Barei-type English song…agree with the Wiwi jury–it’s Javian for me.

Live It Up is the best candidate by far. With his spanish version of the song.
That “Ouch” hurted my ears and i don’t even remember the last one..It was too generatic spanish song..

Spain knows how to bring fuzz to Eurovision regardless of their entry and result.
