Almost a decade on, the smokey voiced singer is still going strong. Earlier this month, she released her latest single “Adèle”. And as you would expect, it is another masterpiece.

The song focuses on a certain mademoiselle called Adèle, not to be confused with the world famous English singer Adele. Patricia warns her that life isn’t easy for women, but promises that she will be there to guide, help and comfort her.
In effect, she’s speaking to all women through Adèle, telling them to fight for their rights and be strong. It’s a feminist anthem for our time.
And Patricia isn’t merely paying lip service to a cause célèbre. Watch the official lyrics video and you will see her live every feeling. By the end of the clip she’s visibly drained and emotionally exhausted.
French chansons tend to be an acquired taste. But if you’re already a fan of the genre, you will absolutely adore “Adèle”. C’est Magnifique!

“Adèle” is the newest cut from Patricia Kaas’ eponymous tenth studio album and follows “Madame Tout Le Monde”, which dropped in September. At the time, we praised the track for its purity and later voted it one of our favourite songs of 2016.
Kaas is set to tour with the album worldwide throughout 2017. Live Nation – the multi-national entertainment company who work with the likes of Lady Gaga and Madonna – have made Kaas their first French singer. This is what you call a superstar.
