He is one of the biggest — if not the biggest — pop stars in Russia, and rightly so.

Dima Bilan keeps pushing boundaries in terms of music and video production, and now the Eurovision 2008 winner has done it once more with “Monstry v tvoyey golove”.

Released three weeks ago, “Monstry v tvoyey golove” (or “Monsters in Your Head”) may remind you of Dima’s previous effort, “V tvoyey golove”.

However, the likeness is only in the title. His latest single is a much more personal, mid-tempo ballad that talks about the obstacles which two people might encounter while struggling to maintain a relationship.

“There are no monsters under your bed, the monsters are in your head,” Dima sings to his lover.

The five-and-a-half-minute music video was directed by Anton Rodin. The ambitious production aims to resemble a short film.

It is quite possible that Dima’s 2016 role in the big-budget period drama The Heritage of Love inspired the two-time Eurovision star to put even more effort and creative energy into his music clips.

This one stars Dima and actress Alina Polyakova. The two play a couple that are obviously in love, but they’re going through some hard times and are trying to make things work.

What do you think of Dima’s new song? Is it a “monster” hit that will get stuck in your head? Or is it just a monstrosity? Tell us what you think below.

Russia at Eurovision

Russia hasn’t missed out on the top ten since Eurovision 2011. They’ve even achieved podium finishes at the last two contests, with Polina Gagarina and Sergey Lazarev finishing second and third respectively.

However, the global and Eurovision superpower has yet to secure an elusive second victory. Of course, Dima Bilan brought them their first with “Believe” in 2008. This came two years after his runner-up performance in 2006.

Padraig such “attention seeking” technique usually used by low level mass media (reverting fact for a nice header is like a lie, don’t you think?) my friendly suggestion would be to avoid such techniques if you’re opting for quality content. need to make people curious or interested? there’s plenty of ways to create catching headers without being low quality yellow press. just recalled what our chief editor said once when she tried to create headline for an article: “The more words in a headline – the lower author’s intelligence and skills, I don’t want to look THAT stupid” (but she… Read more »

@Oxana – No, you’ll see that we say that it’s “Monsters In Your Head” in the text of the post. The “monsters in his head” is purposely used in the headline to grab people’s attention.

lost in the translation 🙂 it is “monsters in YOUR head”, not “monsters in HIS head”
