On Saturday seven artists will compete in the second Melodifestivalen 2017 semi-final in Malmö. They’re all eager to get through to the final, but sadly only two of them can make it. Two more will get a second chance — the Andra Chansen — after the semis are over.
You’ve now watched all of the rehearsal clips and listened to the studio snippets from Thursday. But from the dizzying cloud of bungee cords and wind machines and flapping dancers, who should qualify from semi-final 2? Vote in our poll now. Simply check the box next to your favourite(s) name(s) and press vote. We will go through the results tomorrow, February 11, before the show starts.

@D – Melodifestivalen language rules (Wiki copy-paste): “Until 1999, competing songs were only permitted in Swedish, apart from 1965, 1973, 1974, 1975. This did not stop most winning entries recording English (and other language) versions of their songs. Since the abolition of Eurovision’s language restrictions in 1999, regardless of the performance language at Melodifestivalen, every Swedish entry has been in English. Spanish, French, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Bosnian and Persian are among the other languages to have featured. Cameron Cartio’s entry in Melodifestivalen 2005 was performed in a constructed language.” There is no such rule limiting winning entries to English. It’s… Read more »
@ Colin – It’s a Melodifestivalen rule
Difficult semi, I probably like Benjamin and Mariette the most, judging from those snippets.
It’s obvious that Marietta’s going to the final, and Benjamin and Lisa will fight it out for the final spot. I’m thinking Roger and Dismissed to andra chansen…the others are underwhelming or no goes for me. Rap has no place in the ESC, as they mentioned. 🙂
There’s something wrong with your polls, Wiwibloggs. When I try to make my vote, the button doesn’t work on any PC device I use but it works fine on any small phone device.
I love Mariette, but I vote for the song and not the name. Therefore I voted for Dismissed.
Etzias song is great! I think she could be tomorrows surprise!’
Three performers will be fighting for the final spots. Benjamin, Mariette and Lisa. But I hope for a Second chance spot for Etzia 7 love her song!
Mariette with no doubt! She’s amazing and the song too!
Mariette! I love her song.
Definitely Benjamin!
@D – Says who? I highly doubt a non-English song would win in Sweden, but if it does, it’s up to the artist wether to translate or not. Usually, I dislike late translations to English. If you want English, write it in English or at least do what Iceland does and release both versions at the same time. People should know what they are voting for. Translations, major reboots and song changes after national final voting are kind of a legal fraud.
@ Polegend – If a Swedish-language song wins Melodifestivalen, it gets translated to English for Eurovision, so if that’s your main reason for wanting him to win might wanna find a new one
I really love every song in this semi, but my favorites by far are Lisa and Benjamin. Mariette is over rated imo, she deserves andra chansen. I’d give the second andra chansen spot to Allyawan, but he’s dead in the water I think. It’ll be Dismissed or Roger Pontare, probably.
Allywan is extremely hot
an esc fan
If Sweden want to send Roger, that wili not happen because international juries don t gave many points to song in swedish language. With international juries I don t think it wili happen anytime that song in swedish will win MF, only maybe if song have 40 or more % of televote. We have with Thorsten Flick in 2012 and Hasse22015 similar case on bottom 2 with international juries and in TOP 3 with swedish televote.
If Sweden has the courage to send Roger Pontare, it will be great, but I don’t see them doing that.
They want to top Ireland’s record, they will want to send…you know who…with her punk song.
If I woul wote today with the Mellodifestivalen app. It is posdible to wote for free for how many artists that you chose 1-5. For now
5 Benjamin Ingrosso
4 Marinett ( little dissapoited, not as good as ” Stop beling”
2 Desmissed
2 Pontare
The rest won’t get My wote. But there is a chance I change my mind when I see the whole show! From sweden just like Rafi.
I’m from Sweden as well. And I will give 5 app votes for Mariette that is way above the others in terms of song, voice, charisma, stage quality and chances in the final. And then probobly four to Benjamin and three to Lisa. 🙂
Voted for Roger. His song sounds most original, mysterious and altogether the best! Mariette is a close second.
For me
To final
1.Roger
2.Mariette
to second chance
3.Allyawan
4.Dismissed
out
5.Lisa Ajax
6.Benjamin Ingrosso
7.Etzia
But result wili be
1.Benjamin
2.Mariette
Second chance
3.Lisa Ajax
4.Dismissed
out
5.Roger
6.Etzia
7.Allyawan
I’m from Sweden and I will vote for three of the songs. I’ll give 3 app votes to Allyawan, 3 for Benjamin Ingrosso and 5 app votes to Lisa Ajax
my top 7 from Romania :
1.Mariette with “A Million Years”
2.Lisa Ajax with “I Don’t Give A”
3.Benjamin Ingrosso with “Good Lovin'”
4.Allyawan with “Vart har du vart”
5.Dismissed with “Hearts Align”
6.Roger Pontare with “Himmel och hav”
7.Etzia with “Up”
Roger Pontare should win the entire show. I’m craving for some Swedish culture and language at the contest instead of the same uninspired formulatic pop songs.
Mariette and Lisa!
Mariette by far, don’t care for the rest…
Lisa Ajax! Ill vote for her tomorrow, dont care for the rest..
