We’re half-way through the semifinals of Melodifestivalen 2017. And this week seven more artists — two returnees and a series of debutants — welcome us in to the final stretch during Semi-Final 3 in Växjö. Two of the seven artists will join Nano, Ace Wilder, Mariette and Benjamin Ingrosso in the final. Two more will get a second chance to impress the Swedish public and make their way to the final through andra chansen.

But who should win this week’s semi-final? Yesterday we saw small clips of the artists rehearsing their acts at the Vida Arena and heard the first 60 seconds of each songs. As ever there is variety musically — from contemporary EDM to soul to 1940s boogie-woogie — and visually — from men in leather jackets to to rising, spaceship-like platforms.

Now it’s time to sound off on all the action. Who are your favourites based on these small snippets? You can let us know in our poll below by checking the box next to your favourite(s) and then pressing vote. We will go through the results tomorrow, February 18, before the show starts.

What I’d love:
DTF – Krista and Jasmine
AC – Robin and whoever else

Probably will happen:
DTF – FOO and Robin
AC – Anton and Jasmine

I feel like this is going to be a tough gig though, I feel like this semi might shake it up.

Nobody thinks that every song should be a winner. We hope for one. And so far there is none.

LOL
My cousin: “Where’s the next Melodifestivalen heat?”
Me: “Erm.. Vexoh.. something… you know, that other Swedish city!”
My cousin: “What? Oh, you mean Växjö! Why don’t you just say so?”
*facepalm*

Anton will qualify because he’s a cute boy. Robin will qualify direckt till Friends Arena too, just because. Owe will come last, and the rest will jostle between themselves for mediocrity.

Let’s hope for a surprise, though, just to shake things up a little. One week to Loreen…squeee!

Jasmine is the queen!!
And No Krista will not even advance, sorry.

And the hate towards every semi omg… Not every song in melfest is a ESC winner. They’re there to promote themselves and to hopefully get a hit. I think the songs this year has been better than 2016.

This is easy;

Final: Robin and the Foo

Andra: Jasmine

This is harder;

5th: Krista/Anton
6th: B&F
7th: Owe

I would say Krista for Andra chansen and Anton in 5th place, purely based on that Faller ended 5th spot last year, while the song wasn’t worth it. And Anton might be losing votes because of The Foo and his performance looks like nothing special and reminds me too much of Lisa Ajax performance.

This perhaps being the worst of the 4 semifinals, the top 3 in this poll (Krista, Jasmine and Robin) are obvious. The 4th spot is the one that is up for grabs. I expect the 4th semi to be the best, with 3 of the 4 spots also locked (Jon Henrik, Wiktoria and Loreen).

And what a catastrophe not to win eurovision this year! As a swede.. NOT! We need a break from winning. We need money for other things. Every third year or so is good. Just kidding. But to try and stay in the top 5 or something or at least top 10 is a good enough result.

LOL. It’s impossible to ignore any Eurovision country nowadays. (Well, maybe Ireland… :D)

@Malta Eurovision.. So Sweden have to be ignored for having such a bad semifinal or what? :/

@D I so agree.
And it’s unfair against Sweden. Not all songs can be winner songs as been said. I think it’s the fans that have very high expectations and higher their standards when it comes to Sweden, like we are going to come up with a new “Euphoria” or something every year. And then there are those who want us to fail.
However.. I miss something arty. I hope Loreen brings it next week. But.. she says it’s different this time.

You guys should cover all rehearsals from the maltese final instead.
This semifinal is quite boring, I must say. The obvious qualifiers will be Robin and FOO.

@D

Exactly. People expect unjustifiably for all the songs to be winner songs. I LOVE all the songs here as I am being objective no matter what country is the song from.
Speciffically here, i love “Gravity” and “Kiss You Goodbye” byt overall very competitive and diverse semi final, definantely the most competitive one so far.

People are being so critical but if any of these songs were in a different country’s national final they’d be screaming about what masterpieces they are lmao

Sweden will not take the 7th win this year…

I thought the 1st round was the worst ever. Then came the 2nd and it was so much worse. Now comes the 3rd which is a disaster. The answer for “Who should win semi 3” is no one, absolutely no one.
