Twenty-four acts made it to Ukraine’s Eurovision 2017 selection, but following Semi-Final 3 on Saturday, only six remain.
During this semi, eight acts competed for the last two slots in next Saturday’s grand final. In a thrilling show filled with big voices and plenty of product placement (we’re still not driving a Kia or drinking Pepsi), they all had their eyes on the prize: singing in front of their home country at Eurovision 2017.
As ever the jury panel — Jamala, the reigning Eurovision champion, Andriy Danylko, the male incarnation of the drag star Verka Serduchka, and Konstantin Meladze, noted music producer — offered their advice and critique.
Their votes, coupled with the televote, resulted in O.Torvald — a heavily tattooed and pierced rocker — and Melovin — an edgy and avant-garde poplet — proceeding to the final next week.

And there we have it: All six slots for the final have now been filled.
TAYANNA, Salto, Illaria, Rozhden, O.Tordvald and Melovin will battle it out in the final next weekend, all with the hope of winning on home soil — a feat that hasn’t been achieved since the Irish hat trick in 1994. It will be one hell of a final and we are watching it, so please stay tuned!

maybe no one voted for them. haven’t you already learned how “fair” our country in different kinds of votes? look at the Rada and whom do we have for a PM. have we voted for them? haha
Kozlovskiy and Kadnay had the best perofmance and had to win this semi. I had my toilet break on O.Torvald and tried to stay intertained with Melovin song but it haven’t worked out well. How such forgettable songs with weak voices can win? They eliminated best acts to make sure someone from 1-2 semin will win. This is corruption as we always had in ESC selection. I feel disappointed 🙁 I liked Vivienne Mort and Anastasia Prudius most of all. Melovin – bad song+pale performance, OTorvald – good song, but vocal is far from ideal.
Why are they called O. Torvald and why they have blood on the outfits?

I hate people living in my country, who woted for O.Torvald. They were my fifth, because of the very boring song and bad vocals. Vivien Mort and KADNAY were the best. Thank you, Ukraine, for not entering even top 10 in the final. I’m really disappointed. At least, Italy or France should win on the 13th of May.
Kadnay was good live, way better than studio version. Impressed me more then O.torvald. Melovin could’ve been another good thing to root but his song isn’t filled enough with lyrics…
Also in 2016, SUNSAY got more % of the televote in his semi final than Jamala did in hers, but in the final he came 3rd and she of course came first 🙂
@ Kay-Lynn TAYANNA only got 30% of the televote because she was a massive fan favorite prior to the semi final, and because Semi Final 1 was the weakest of all the semi’s, their wasn’t anybody else to vote for. I’m pretty sure ILLARIA will end up coming out on top, the jury and public both like her better than TAYANNA.
By the way… MELOVIN for the win!
This morning I commented that I wanted a Anastasia Prudius and Melovin to qualify, but I liked O.Torvald too, so I’m really happy my favs have gone through. Especially after Kuznetsov being eliminated in Semi-2 🙁 Said that, I don’t think Europe would get behind O.Torvald. Anyway, keep rocking Eastern countries lml
Tayanna for the win best song out of the bunch ! And I love her red coat ! She’s the only one to get more than 30% televote so I think she’s got I’d unless the juries mess it up for her ! She Has the most internationally sounding song

About tonight’s semi final, I have to say I liked O.Tordvald before the live performance. Now I like this song more.
