Ukraine Vidbir 2017 poll winner

We are just one week away from finding out which act will succeed Jamala and represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2017. Following the three semi-finals of Vidbir 2017 we now have six very different acts still in the race to sing on home soil this May. Ukrainians will decide the result this weekend. But you can have your say now by voting in our poll.

From the reggae sounds of Salto Nazad to the tattooed rock of O.Torvald to the emotional balladry of TAYANNA, variety is the key word here. You can take it all in below. And, as ever, you can then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many acts as you’d like, but you can only vote once. So be sure to click the box next to every act you want to support before pressing submit.

Salto Nazad – “O, mamo!”

Melovin – “Wonder”

O.Torvald – “Time”

Illaria – “Thank You For My Way

Tayanna – “I Love You”

Rozhden – “Saturn”

@Kimmm – ”But wiwi readers, they want female ballad to win in every national final.” Well, it doesn’t have to be a ballad every time, but I just got an epiphany – This season, Wiwibloggs poll votes go for a female vocalist. EVERY NATIONAL FINAL! No exception! According to Wiwibloggs readers, all countries should be represented by women. Even in countries when a guy eventually won (Hungary, Spain), he wasn’t a favorite on Wiwibloggs. Everyone seams to love Italy, but Sanremo didn’t even release their songs before the very evening, so there was no polls on Wiwibloggs.

ILLARIA is by far my favorite one. Her song is a ballad but it’s not a crying-boring ballad like Tayanna’s. ILLARIA is much more interesting with her ethno/folk elements. Her ballad is POSITIVE and I love it

Kimmm, well, people pick what they like. We will be dealing with lullabies and jumpers in the end…

OMG how it is possible, that some people want next female ballad? Are you crazy? We still dont have rock song and we have only some bands. But wiwi readers, they want female ballad to win in every national final. Of course, O.Torvald must win! Hope in Norway will win their rock band too.

What’s with all the Tayanna hype? Don’t we already have way too many sobby ballads?
My favourite out of the bunch is Melovin. I think he brings something new both musically and look-wise

Salto Nazad! There are only 13 songs selected and we already have enough female ballads and even though none of them are amazing a few will probably slip through to the final. We don’t need an automatically qualified one (which isn’t even that good either). Send something original Ukraine!

Tayanna is the worst option. Her song is so boring, oldfashioned and not original. I prefer Salto Nazad, O. Torvald and Illaria.

People complain about cheap sons and still vote for them – hello Poland and Russia 2016.
People complain about women singing ballads and women singing good ballads come on top – hi Australia 2016.
Rounding up and choosing regarding the song’s ability to score in top 5, Tayanna should be the choice.
Yes, I wanted to Ukraine to send something different, something fresh and unexpected yet with wow-factor to it. But we don’t have such kind of a song this year.

After Gabi Toth, it seems that now, Tayanna is the new focus.
If we escape this time too, maybe God exists.

Please, Ukraine, no more crying women!! There are already plenty of them in esc2017

It would be interesting if once for a change a guy represents Ukraine. It didn’t happen for a decade.

Also, funny how so many people in here complain about too much female sung ballads, and then most polls are led by female sung ballads. 🙂

I cant focus on the music because I just feel so thirsty. If only I had a delicious, refreshing pepsi……

O.Torvald. Of course, rock (esp alt rock) is my favorite genre so I’m a bit biased. But as @Music is the Key mentions, we need the variety. Time is a very well composed modern rock song and we don’t get those very often in this contest. Not every entry needs to be another woman singing a pop ballad. It’s “time” for something a little different to better embrace the theme of “celebrate diversity.”
(Puns intended lol) 🙂

I would suggest they lose that trick blood shirt. I can see how it would be off-putting to many.

If Tayanna didn’t sing in English, then I would choose her. Illaria would be a great choice, too. So hard to pick. Both songs are quality. Leaning slightly more to Illaria though….

“I Love You” might be one of the best NF entries overall this year – it will jump right to my #1 if it’s chosen. Her live performance makes this so much better.
I also voted for Melovin, he’d be my back-up choice, but Tayanna is waaay above him.

Time – great rock song! And we need more rock this year. Rock is always welcomed in ESC. Brilliant powerful rock song! But he shuld wear that silly “blood t shirt”

To be honest…I find I Love you AWFUL! Cliched, banal ballad…and I hate her shouty crying voice!

Tayanna is a deserving favourite. Her raw emotion and passion is evident.
I was totally drawn in after the first listen, and i have been ever since. Witnessing her pain note by note every time, a very captivating and dramatic performance.
With this in mind i am in no doubt Tayanna will win the national final.

It would make an excellent host entry by the way too.

I love Tayanna and O.Torvald, but my vote will go to Tayanna because it would be the first outstanding ballad of 2017! Also her song is all Poland’s entry wants to be but fails because of Kasia’s limited vocal abilities.

Tayanna or Illaria. I feel like a lot of the other songs only made it through because the jurors want a male singer and a Ukrainian-language song.

I really enjoy Tayanna’s song. It reminds me a little of ‘Elysium’ by Mahan Moin, which is always a good thing! She is an amazing performer with an amazing song!
