Malta: PBS release full results for Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2017

On Saturday evening Claudia Faniello snatched the Eurovision crown in Malta, and as the dust settles PBS, the national broadcaster for the island nation, has released the full results of its annual Malta Eurovision Song Contest. The top three were announced during the live broadcast, and now us Eurovision nerds have some more votes to analyse and geek out over. Yaasss!

A total of 18,967 votes were received during the February 18 show, and the top two finished almost neck-and-neck with Claudia Faniello receiving 4,996 votes, putting her around 450 votes north of runner-up Janice Mangion, who earned 4,544 votes. Given the thunderous applause and standing ovations these two ladies received it comes at no surprise that the two vocal powerhouses came close so each other. Splitting hairs, y’all!

A bit of a gap separated Janice and third-place finisher Kevin Borg.

The Swedish Idol winner gained 2,502 votes, closely followed by our poll winner and our Wiwi Jury favourite Brooke Borg who clocked a neat 2,000 votes.

Both Kevin and Brooke slayed vocally and we think their placings are well deserved.

Rounding out the top five was the young man with the clean and clear falsetto, Franklin Calleja.

Franklin’s previous attempts at Malta Eurovision Song Contest have been a bit hit and miss.

This time his song “Follow Me” was received very well by the audience in Malta, which earned him a total of 1,303 votes.
