Back in January he teased the title of his Eurovision 2017 song by uploading an image of an astronaut’s helmet, later revealing that the song will be called “Gravity”.

And, as he prepares to reveal his number on March 1, Cyprus’ Hovig is teasing us yet again, this time with an atmospheric snippet that suggests a truly ambitious campaign.

The first teaser, released on Sunday, looks very intergalactic. The song title “Gravity” lights up in neon lights, and we see the hands of a man and a woman standing on either sides of a celestial body. It’s looking very expensive.

The A and the V and the Y of GRAVITY have a line running across their openings, which reminds us of the logo used by Sweden’s Jean-Baptiste Group (who Cyprus worked with on choreography and staging last year).

The polished sound and sleek finish also remind us of Sweden. And that makes sense given that Hovig has teamed up with Swedish Eurovision legend Thomas G:Son. G:son, who has written hits including “Euphoria”, “In A Moment Like This” and “Invinceble”, wrote Minus One’s “Alter Ego” last year.

Vocally we can except Hovig to serve pitch-perfect vocals with that hint of grit and sexiness he is known for.

Earlier in the Eurovision season, Hovig traveled to Armenia to get in touch with his Armenian roots and to perform on Armenia’s Depi Evratesil national selection. He then sang a medley that included his 2015 Eurovision entry “Stone By The River”, Bruno Mars’ “Treasure” and the Armenian song “Hayi acher”.

Hovig released another teaser on Monday, which was similar to the first but flagged the two-day countdown.

We’re fairly confident that he will release another snippet on Tuesday — and with new audio to whet your appetite even further.

What do you think about the snippets so far? Does the high quality promo signal good things to come? Are you loving the intergalactic feel? Let us know in the comments below!

I’d honestly be surprised if Armenia doesn’t give 12 points just because he’s Armenian. Gotta love our nationalism! But anyways, is it just me, or does it sound kinda drum and bass-ish? If it is, I’m so excited!!

And like a butterflyyyyy… Oops! That’s the wrong “Gravity” song! :S (Ukraine 2013).

I would like Cyprus to do well at ESC; hopefully this is good. I would also like the island to unify (*cough*), I mean, get behind this song! 😀

He will probably carry a dance bop, I’m here for it.

@ Frau Von Storch – as if… Russia is a proud country, they’ve probably selected the potential winner of 2017 for Kiev.
