They’re the rock band that took Cyprus to its second consecutive grand final at Eurovision 2016. And last month, Minus One were at it once again, as they released their latest single “Invincible”.

“Invincible” is a powerhouse number, and acts as an ode to everyone who have been hurt at some point in life, especially women.
Taking to Instagram, the band write:
This song is dedicated to all women on earth who have to endure discrimination, violence and harassment. Your enemy is not invincible.
There’s an old Icelandic saying, which I will try my best to translate — “A good tune can never be overplayed”. And that is just the case with Minus One’s latest effort.
It’s a catchy rock number, with their signature sound at its best. The track acts as a magnificent homage to the empowerment of the spirit.
“Invincible” is the group’s way to say it’s okay if you get knocked down every once in a while, because no one is, as the title says, invincible.
The strength lies in getting up again and fighting for the right to love, live and be yourself. In the end, love is ultimately stronger than hate. A lovely message, and in this day and age, completely necessary.
The empowering themes continue in the official music video, as we witness a young woman overcome an invisible opponent in the boxing ring. Our favourite Cypriot rockers look on broodingly from the sidelines.

Cyprus at Eurovision 2017
After qualifying for the past two Eurovision grand finals with John Karayiannis and Minus One, Cyprus will be hoping to maintain its winning streak.
However, the Mediterranean Island’s qualification record hasn’t always been so rosy. Since the introduction of the semis in 2004, they’ve only reached the final six times.
This year, they’re sending Hovig, an internally selected singer. He’ll perform “Gravity”
