We’re just one step away from finding out Lithuania’s Eurovision 2017 representative as we’ve reached the semi-final of their national selection marathon Eurovizijos atranka 2017. Tonight’s eight semi-finalists sang their entries and as usual, the Lithuanian and international juries made their decisions alongside the televoters.

Only six can advance to next week’s final. Sadly, history won’t be repeating itself for Lithuania’s 2009 Eurovision representative Sasha Song, as he fell at the final hurdle alongside last year’s finalist Ieva Zasimauskaite. Fusedmarc confirmed their place in the final as tonight’s semi-final winner and will be joined by Aiste Pilvelyte, Gabrielius Vagelis, Kotryna Juodzeviciute, Paula and Greta Zazza. Congratulations!

Eurovizijos atranka 2017 – semi-final running order

Sasha Song – “Never Felt Like This Before”

Ieva Zasimauskaite – “You Saved Me”

Paula – “Let U Go”

Aiste Pilvelyte – “I’m Like a Wolf”

Kotryna Juodzeviciute – “Love Shadow”

Fusedmarc – “Rain of Revolution”

Gabrielius Vagelis – “Feel Myself Free”

Greta Zazza – “Like I Love You”

Semi-final results

Once again, the international juries had their say on tonight’s eight semi-finalists. William Wells from the United States, the UK’s Denis Ingoldsby and Sweden’s Sacha Jean-Baptiste all returned to give their points, which count towards 50% of the overall jury votes. They were then combined with the other 50% from the Lithuanian juries.

@Robyn Gallagher to my mind, it’s not weird at all – these two acts both are extraordinary, because all the others are just girls singing modern pop songs (btw am i the only one thinking this year’s selection is really high quality ? Cause I don’t remember any other year with final, which all songs are so modern and radio-friendly), so if you don’t like such type of entries, you had a possibility to vote either for Lolita or for Fusedmarc, and now only Fusedmarc is left In fact, I don’t think they can win televote in the final as… Read more »

Check out Fusdemarc’s performance from episode 8. With this performance Fusedmarc won Lithuanian’s hearts. https://goo.gl/RB5Eo0

http://www.lrt.lt/mediateka/irasas/163715/eurovizija#wowzaplaystart=0&wowzaplayduration=6485000 that is the link of semifinal if you are interested, you can just find and skip songs right through because this is whole contest with lithuanian commentaries and intro’s I am from Lithuania, and to be honest I don’t like this type of qualifiers even though television think it works since well finals usually followed up for us, and television just gets a lot of profit for it, like a lot of money – 0.6 euro for one call, one can call up to five times, so easy to count how many profit does television get out of one… Read more »

@Anthony – 49 songs, ha!? Then this is sadder than I thought. Why are these 6 so underwhelming, then? Not a single standout. I guess it’s even sadder for Germany to reportedly receive over 4000 songs and end-up with two so impersonal average songs. Well, at least Lithuania uses songs made for a specific artist. Germany couldn’t even do that.

@Héctor, Gabrielius has very beautiful song, but I’m not sure it will do well in ESC..

Just watched Greta’s and Aiste’s semifinal performances. Greta did great in the first half but wasn’t quite spot-on in the second half. Still a great song, and Lithuania may do quite well with her entry, as long as Greta practices and really owns that song at ESC. Aiste on the other hand did essentially the opposite. She was pitchy as hell for the first minute and a half, but she has a way of being convincing with her vocals even if she doesn’t have great pitch control – she sings very “fully” and is good with dynamics. And as much… Read more »

Can someone from Lithuania explain why is Rain of Revolution getting so many televote and jury points?

@Daniel_2017 – You are my hero now. That is EXACTLY what I was going to say. Seams like Lithuania is burning down money.

I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard some of the songs and… let’s say that Spain might get q competition for a certain place.

I haven’t watched the Lithuanian selection (I will watch the final though), but can someone please explain to me what’s the point of having a semifinal with 8 songs, out of which 6 advance and only 2 get eliminated?! Couldn’t that just be the final and be done with it?

After seeing Greta have the lowest amount of points out of all the qualifers, I’ve lost faith in it winning now. I’ll have to hope that Aiste can pull it off next week.

Aiste good song, but it wili be weird to hear almost same song 3 time in Eurovision, two times from Latvia 2015, 2016 and now for Lithauania 2017. All 3 song compose by Aminata.

Why do all the underdogs keep on doing so well? I’d understand if it was a good song, but this Fusedmarc garbage is not worthy of being anywhere near the final. The girl can barely sing, and the song is truly a big mess. I really hope Aiste or Greta, maybe Paula as a distant 3rd, can win. Otherwise Lithuania will crash and burn in the semi.

Why all countries are making mistakes tonight? Lithuania, you have three good, modern songs – Aiste, Paula and Greta. Why are that group wining? Lithuania, please, don’t make this year ESC even worse…

I have a feeling Aiste might sway the televoters as she was very close. But going to be tough to change the jury as they probably wont change their mind. So i could see a tie happening …does anyone know if there is a tie if the jury or televote has the final say ..i couldnt see it anywhere?

If that Fusedmarc mess ends up winning, I’m deleting the photos I took in Lithuania last summer from my phone. That song is messy in every way… Aiste and Greta are the only tea, come on.

The thing is I never considered Fusedmarc a contender, so I’m surprised they are doing this well. I haven’t watched their latest performances, but I believe there are better options for Lithuania anyway. Other than that, the results seem fair to me. It was high time Sasha went home!
