It’s been a very long journey, but we’re about to reach the finish line of Lithuania’s national selection marathon “Eurovizijos” dainu konkurso nacionaline atranka, or simply Eurovizijos atranka 2017.

A whopping forty-nine participants made it to the mind-boggling competition, which started way back in January. After four heats, two knockout rounds and a semi-final, Aiste Pilvelyte, Fusedmarc, Gabrielius Vagelis, Greta Zazza, Kotryna Juodzeviciute and Paula will sing it out in the grand final to become Lithuania’s Eurovision 2017 representative on 11 March.

However, broadcaster LRT have one last surprise up their sleeve. On Monday, Lithuanian viewers voted for one of six eliminated acts to return, which included semi-finalists Sasha Song and Ieva Zasimauskaite.

But the public favourite was Gytis Ivanauskas, who was originally eliminated in the second knockout round. He will return as his watermelon-smashing drag queen alter ego Lolita Zero to perform “Get Frighten” in the final.

Wildcard voting results

  1. Gytis Ivanauskas – 7495 votes
  2. Sasha Song – 5755 votes
  3. Ieva Zasimauskaite – 2014 votes
  4. Edgaras Lubys – 1735 votes
  5. Mia – 800 votes
  6. Queen of Roses – 598 votes

But who should win the final? You can listen to all the songs from the seven finalists below and have your say by voting in our poll. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote ONCE, so choose wisely! We’ll close the poll on Friday 10 March, just ahead of the grand final.

Aiste Pilvelyte – “I’m Like a Wolf”

Fusedmarc – “Rain of Revolution”

Gabrielius Vagelis – “Feel Myself Free”

Greta Zazza – “Like I Love You”

Gytis Ivanauskas (Lolita Zero) – “Get Frighten”

Kotryna Juodzeviciute – “Love Shadow”

Paula – “Let U Go”

Who should win the final of Lithuania’s Eurovizijos atranka 2017?

This might be the weakest national finals this year. I’ve listened to all the songs once again and here is my personal rating:

3. Gabrielius Vagelis: Feel Myself Free – 4/10

*similiar to Grand Eurovision 2016, not 2015

I predict Aiste will win selection with the situation similiar to Grand Eurovision 2015, when Ukraine hasn’t won neither televoting nor jury voting. Televoting will be winned by Lolita Zero, with Aiste being second, Paula third and Fusedmarc fourth. Lolita Zero and Fusedmarc have almost the same fans, that’s why i don’t believe they will do as well as they did in SF. However Fusedmarc will win jury voting, with Aiste being 2nd or 3rd and Lolita dead last 🙂 so after summing jury results with televoting, we will see quite interesting result when overall winner doesn’t win any section… Read more »

Y’all are delusional, Greta has no charisma to pull Donny.

If they want to get a placing as good as Donny’s at Eurovision, Greta Zazza is the only choice.
Any other song is either 9th or 10th in Lithuania’s semi final or might even miss out, and then be on the right side of the scoreboard.

@Luis
Greta is not winning coz William did an interview with her. Maybe he should do one with fusedmarc for good measure.

As long as it’s not Fusedmarc or Gabrelius, I’m ok with literally ANY OF THEM. Greta is my favourite, though.

It’s a shame Lithuania will chuck “Like I Love You” away…the only song that could possibly reach the heights Donny brought Lithuania to last year

I’m not going to follow the national finals anymore. All they do is bring me heart ache.

I voted for Lolita zero to come back as the wildcard. The disgruntled fans since she got out were voting for Fusedmarc. So much so that they won the semi……..no no no.
Now we know lolita will be last with the jury and first with televote so he can’t win.
Hopefully the international jurors don’t favour fusedmarc and the televote split with lolita prevents them from winning.
I’d like Greta/Paula/Gabrielius/Aiste to win.
Hopefully this works out.

Oh yes Get Frighten is at least an nonsensical offering of bizarre fun in a dull sea of bland mediocrity.

Send Get Frighten just to upset the fragile masculinities of Lithuania’s large neighbour!

Hard to comment about Aminata’s rituals, Szpak Vagelis, Lolita and rest. Things look a bit forced. Have to say I’m ok with chorus from Aiste, but like once. The song is again far off from balanced entry that can lit something. It looks like winner is either Aiste of Greta Zaza followed by Fusedmarc. Lolita is insane dark horned horse though…

Robyn Gallagher

It’s very likely that Lolita Zero could win the televote, but there’s no way the broadcaster would let “Get Frighten” win the whole show. Just like in heat 7, the juries will give it a low score which would negate any televote boost. 🙁

Unfortunately, Greta won’t win. If you check the last results, you’ll see that she has no chance of winning;

Is it wrong from me that I am kind of rooting for Lolita Zero to win? For all the wrong reasons. I *need* a song that is irredemably bad this year in the line-up. Germany’s song is bland and impersonal, sure. But irredemable… no, because Levina is a good vocal. I forget Albania as soon as I listen to it… but is it bad? Not at all. Spain is awful! It’s nonsensical and repetitive. But the large portion of my dislike is just the fact of how it got to the contest. I think it’s a pretty weak song nonetheless,… Read more »

Greta Zazza should win this, but I don’t trust lithuanian voters so I don’t even expect her to win.

Greta is the winner for me, Aiste would just be okay.
I don’t recall ever being this annoyed with a NF contestant like with Lolita Zero. I can’t believe she’s back.

Briekimchi

Broadcaster just trying to improve the ratings of the final show. Nothing really surprising.

Greta Zazza for serious high placement song

Lolita Zero for Joke act hilarious on the night

Can’t decide which one i like better lol!

OBVIOUSLY It should be Get Frighten.

Marco

Lolita have chance only if we have 100 % televote in Lithuania.

bulgariastan

I can see Fusedmarc, Paula, or, sadly, Gytis/Lolita winning. The way for Fusedmarc to win is to get higher than third in the jury vote, and have the necessary televoting support. If Paula can tie with Aiste in the jury and get 7 points from the jury, and get atleast second in the televoting, I think she’ll win. She could also win the televote. Gytis will win if they win the televote, provided that none of the above scenarios occur.

Well, it looks like Fusedmarc’s instrumental has not improved based on this video. Use better synths for your song!!! It sounds like if you were playing a MIDI file on Windows 98 or something. Shame because the music is well written otherwise.

1° Gabrielius
2° Aiste
3° Greta
4° Paula
5° Lolita
6° Kotryna
7° Fusedmarc

I can’t believe I’m supporting Aiste, but it should be either Greta or Aiste. Preferably Greta. If Fusedmarc’s song has been heavily modified since the first performance then I’d be willing to reconsider, but I have no idea if that’s the case

i love lolita i understand her song is marmite but im all for it ! we need a fun song this will 100% qualify with the new voting system and the pool they are in. P.S. you cant call it bad music its just a different taste!

Oooh I like four songs out of this. But whatever you do, please don’t choose Lolita WTF is that song anyway?

eurovision6

Paula has the best song hands down and of course since its a Eurovision nf its not a favorite for the win.. Aiste, Greta and Fusedmarc are also ok but no way near as good..

LOLITA has to win!!! Lolita definitely needs to improve their vocals, but they can really deliver some lit watermelon smashing at ESC

Maxime from France

I hope Lithuania won’t want to troll is by sending Lolita Zero! Greta Zazza and Aisté are amazing, we need one of these two at Eurovision!

Bastian

Only Greta!! That’s real popmusic. I cant wait <3 <3 <3

Alex

Oh wow. Didn’t expect this to happen. I suddenly have a strong feeling Lithuania will select either Lolita (as someone who is familiar with with what that word means in a manga/anime context, that name makes me cringe) or fusedmarc. But I hope so much that the 2 cancers cancel each other out, so that either Aiste or Greta could win. Otherwise Lithuania is pretty much screwed.

Héctor
Guest

Why Lithuania, why?? The organisers knew the people were going to choose Lolita Zero, so this wildcard was a fake. Lolita is going to win the televote, but the jury (the international at least) will place him/her last, so Lolita isn’t winning. However, the results will be changed for sure with this late incorporation.

Anyway, I support Gabrielius! His voice is perfect and the song is so emotional and can feel what he is singing. He qualified 3rd so he has the chance to win I hope.

2 options – Aiste or Lolita

Aiste – because we need Aminata 3rd time in a row

Lolita – because we need a troll entry!

so the phantom lolita zero vote that went to fusedmarc in the semis is gone
i want to be mad that the watermelon demon is back but I think this makes it easier for aiste/paula/greta/kotryna to win since rains of revolution and get frighten are going to vote split

Alex

Clearly, aiste or gretta should represent Lithuania but looking at the previous results, I think fusedmarc will win the jury and Lolita will win the televote. So god help Lithuania, you may aswell quit now!

@Werka: You must be thinking of any other Lolitas out there to actually claim real music can be labelled with that name on … but honey … drag queens with no vocals abilities and nothing to show for but another amateurish gay club performance … isn’t in any way … music, no matter how much you try to pretend to think it is.

Charles
Guest

@Polegend Godgarina: Since when has Lithuania ever attempted to throw shade at Russia through Eurovision? With This Time in 2015 or C’est La Vie a few years before? You must be confusing it with Georgia in 2009 and Ukraine in 2007 … With Lolita representing Lithuania, Russia will only have a lot to mock and hate on in their ultra conservative post-finale TV show where everybody hates everything outside Russia. If you want to play the “I hate Russia” game, you gotta be smarter and more substantial than a drag-queen-no-live-vocals-wannabee … wannabe being the most important word here.
