Yodel It lyrics

On Sunday, 5 March, Ilinca feat. Alex Florea won Selectia Nationala 2017 with “Yodel It!”, earning the right to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. You can read the “Yodel It!” lyrics below.

The unique rap-meets-yodeling combo was rewarded with top points from the jury and won the televote by a large margin. “Yodel It!” also won our readers’ hearts and we ranked it first in our Wiwi Jury.

The “Yodel It” lyrics play on the dynamic of light defeating the darkness of life. Similar to Taylor Swift in “Shake It Off”, Ilinca teaches us to break free from the daily doom and gloom, but she suggests yodeling our hearts out instead of shaking it off. During the bridge, she sings: “If you’re stuck in a place feeling incomplete, If you wanna run feeling like a misfit, Come on sing along, Come on sing this song”. All we need to learn now is how to yodel — we could use Ilinca’s tutorial — and we’ll be all set!

“Yodel It!” – Ilinca feat. Alex Florea

Although it is instantly catchy and memorable, “Yodel It!” can prove rather tricky to sing along to, due to the yodeling parts, which few apart from Ilinca Bacila can master. But if you want to try, check out the “Yodel It!” lyrics below. To quote a very wise man: “Yodel like no one is listening, love like you’ll never be hurt!”

“Yodel It!” lyrics – Ilinca feat. Alex Florea (Romania, Eurovision 2017)

Alex:
Hey
All you out there
Wanna sing and shout
Yodele, yodeleioo
Sing it!
Yodele, yodeleioo

Ilinca:
Yodeleeii (yodeleioo)
Yodeleioo (Sing it so I can hear you)
Yodeleeii (Yodele, yodeleioo)
Yodeleioo

Alex:
You never show the spark that makes you glow
You always run away, you always say no to the right things
Don’t try to hide the light inside of you
Today might be the day when you will make it baby

Ilinca:
So bring it on, bring it on, I’m a dreamer
If you don’t believe it, come and see me I will teach you

Alex:
If you never try, you’ll never be alive
You are gonna miss out on this ride

Chorus:
Yodeleeii
Yodeleeii, yodeleeii, yodeleioo
(Yodele yodeleioo)
Yodeleeii
Yodeleeii, yodeleeii, yodeleioo
(Yodele yodeleioo)
Yodeleeii
Wanna hear this now (Yodeleio)
Gonna act real crazy (Yodeleeii)
Yodele yodeleioo (Yodeleio)

Alex:
Now what’s the use of being so confused
Of doing all this work you really don’t want to be doing
But you’ll be fine, it’s time to feel alive
Don’t stop from reaching for the stars and keep on moving

Ilinca:
So bring it on, bring it on, I’m a dreamer
If you don’t believe it, come and see me, I will teach ya

Alex:
If you never try, you’ll never be alive
You are gonna miss out on this ride!

Chorus:
Yodeleeii
Yodeleeii, yodeleeii, yodeleioo
(Yodele yodeleioo)
Yodeleeii
Yodeleeii, yodeleeii, yodeleioo
(Yodele yodeleioo)
Yodeleeii
Wanna hear this now (Yodeleio)
Gonna act real crazy (Yodeleeii)
Yodele yodeleioo (Yodeleio)

Bridge:

Sitting alone at my desk on a 9 to 5 program
It just won’t do
Get another coffee, get another one to make it through
Don’t want this anymore

Don’t you hide that light inside of you
Come and show me what you wanna do

If you’re stuck in a place feeling incomplete
If you wanna run feeling like a misfit
Come on sing along
Come on sing this song
Say 1, 2, 3

Yodelei, yodeleio
Just shout it baby
Yodelei, yodeleio
Just shout it baby
Yodeleeii
Wanna hear this now
Yodeleio
Gonna act really crazy
Yodeleeii
Yodele yodeleioo
Just shout it baby

Suddenly today I fell for this song.

It has a deep message in it, also a deep emotion.

I love it <3

This one also will end up high. Who knows. Dark Horse II

Apropo: da fugu?a in bucatarie ca s-a ars mincarea.

@Moonlight

okay i didn’t knew this before, wow talk about having good Chemistry on stage then, and i also love how she’s giving yodelling lessons on YouTube for beginners

this is definitely a song which can standout between all the ballads and darkness songs 🙂

Moonlight- you mean give Cezar what belongs to Cezar and give Ilinca what belongs to Ilinca – Ilinca will be the youngest winner in the century and is the most beautiful girl of the year, while Cezar had the best voice of 2013.
And before calling me a pervert, I’m actually younger then Ilinca

I Love this song, it’s modern, traditional, Ilinca seems very cute, quirky and gorgeous at the same time, she and Alex seem also good friends on and off stage 🙂

Cruella DeMoon (green avatar) :
If she will win in Kiev, will be the youngest winner by the rules after 1990.
In May 18, 2013 Emmelie de Forest had aged 20 years, 3 months and 20 days.
In May 13, 2017 Ilinca will be aged 18 years, 8 months and 26 days.

You just know too much, someboody call child protection, this old man, homeless but with family, just cant have this obsession for young girls.

The youngest ever entrant was 12-year-old Jean Jacques from Monaco. He represented Monaco in Eurovision 1969 with the song “Maman, Maman”. The oldest was 95-year-old Emil Ramsauer from the Swiss 2013-band “Takasa”

Sandra Kim, at the time of her Eurovision win, she was only 13 years old, making her the youngest winner of the contest.

@Cruella DeMoon: You are not honest, and you know it! 🙂 My point is that diaspora helped Romania a lot. And where does the diaspora vote go? To the televote of course. You just take into account the total vote (made of televote + jury vote) because you know juries balanced off the diaspora vote… Now please give me those same figures taking only the televote into account, and the diaspora effect will be obvious.

You prove nothing, and you are really stubborn and dishonest! 😉

This comment section became cancer. If I’m a fan of Ilinca it doesn’t mean I’m ultra-anti Mihai and a troll. I just like her, lol. And @Moonlight everyone between 11 and 20 is a teenager. Yeah, Emmellie won the Danish NF as a teen

Not all the diaspora vote or watch Eurovision. In most of the years Romania really had good songs or at least unique and interesting like Cezar. If you live with the impresion that Romania qualifies cause of the diaspora, is your opinion.Perhaps some of them do vote for their country and it’s their right like also yours, but to say that a country do well just because the diaspora I think it’s a bit exaggerated. So don’t make it big cause it’s not like this. 🙂

Racal

@Daniel: Oh man, drop the hypocrisy, please… What do you want me to tell you? That Romania has qualified every year only thanks to the “amazing” quality of their songs? That diaspora hasn’t brought Romania a huge amount of points? We all know it’s not true. Romania has a huge appeal in Eurovision thanks to neighbours and especially their huge diaspora. Same is true every year, same will be true this year. See my comment to Cruella DeMoon here under: don’t you think it’s strange that the countries that have given the most points to Romania all have a huge… Read more »

The thing is that, if a song is good and liked there will be votes, of course the countries that have something in common(like the latin language, or friendship, culture etc) they will vote each other more but if the song is not good it won’t have high percentage of votes. So what is the problem? If the diaspora was so powerful, every year those countries would have been top 5.

Daniel
Daniel

@Racal:If Romania do well in televotes, immediately does it mean that is cause of diaspora? Now that’s a wrong mentality. Let me tell you that the majority of diaspora don’t care about Eurovision cause they are in those countries for work or study and they don’t have time for Eurovision :)) Also last year some people sad that to Polish people. I don’t believe it, sorry.

@Daniel: For the neighbouring vote: no, it’s not just Romania (it’s also the Scandinavians, the Balkans, Russia/Belarus, etc.). So what? Does that make it ok? For the diaspora vote: there’s Romania, Armenia and Turkey, that’s it. Does that make it ok too?

You should really stop hiding behind other countries. I don’t care if Romania is not the only one: this is wrong, regardless of other countries doing it or not (and this is wrong for all the countries of course, not just Romania).

Guess what guys? I can’t stand the song from Romania, I also don’t like the songs from Malta, Croatia, Georgia, Switzerland (my country!), Germany, the UK, … It doesn’t effing mean I don’t like these countries, stop being so dramatic y’all.

lol funny how Romanians are trying to show the situation like whole Europe is against them while people just comments on the song (which is horrible btw) or just a singer. It has nothing to do with the nations, it’s only a song contest, you guys are like “Don’t touch Romanians, we know you hate us..” Seriously??? Why would someone hate romanians? I know romanians as very peaceful and nice nation (I am sure many ppl thinks the same).. you guys just make drama without a specific reason and sorry but thats annoying.

Ah and you or your girlfriend/wife will never be a 1/100 as beautiful as Ilinca. And she is also incredibly talented – she had a hard past, suffered from dysphonia at youth and until the age of 6 she couldn’t speak or recognize sounds. But thanks to hard work and passion she defeated her illness and now she will be participating in ESC. I think the girl needs some recognition because she just deserves it.

People saying Ilinca is ugly and 0/10 have literally no taste. Miruna from Timebelle only has boobs and nothing more – he seems kinda fat to me and her hairstyle is awful. Ilinca is a beautiful young lady, and, as Cruella the Moon said, she is very polite and positive. I follow her on fb, and she’s literally the cutest girl ive ever met. If you write her anything on privete message, she will kindly respond, thank and say sweet things. I mean, just look at her photos – she looks so incredibly nice and gorgeous. We know we do not have a chance at winning but at least we sent a happy joyful and original song. There has never been in the history of eurovision a combination of Yodeling and rap.
It’s the type of song made to bring a smile on your face and a good mood. Just imagine this coming after 4-5 ballads :))
For that person who said Ilinca is a 0/10, for God’s sake, then 80% of the average or less than average looking women on this planet are noted with – in the front of the number? Ilinca is gorgeous.
