The Melodifestivalen 2017 final is tonight, but last night the artists took out their treadmills, bungee jump ropes and hot dogs to perform in front of a live audience in the dress rehearsal. The international juries also watched the show and have ranked the songs based on last night’s performances.

Like in the past five weeks, once again the Swedish fanclub Melodifestivalklubben asked the departing audience, who should win the final. A total of 574 people answered the poll last night and it seems that the Swedish audience has two big favourites.

Wiktoria topped the poll with 100 votes. She has made some changes to her performance after the semi-final and is ready to slay in a new red dress tomorrow. Even though she is the big favourite to win, Wiktoria told us that she doesn’t feel pressure but is happy for all the support she is getting.

But it’s not clear victory for Wiktoria. Melodifestivalen debutant Nano is a close second with 95 votes. These two have been also the bookies’ favourites to win the contest on Saturday. Nano told us in the interview that Melodifestivalen helped him to find the way from darkness to light and now his future is looking very bright.

Taking third place on the audience poll is Robin Bengtsson, who is back at the Melodifestivalen final after finishing fifth last year. His performance includes four male dancers, treadmills and extremely well synchronized choreography.

Anton Hagman, who beat Eurovision winner Loreen in the duel in the andra chansen, is fourth place in the poll. Anton got discovered through YouTube and is now really making his big breakthrough. Robin Stjenberg won Melodifestivalen back in 2013, after going through the andra chansen. Can Anton do the same?

Another upcoming pop star Benjamin Ingrosso rounds out the top five. The Wiwi Jury’s favourite Mariette finished joint sixth in the poll with FO&O.

Melodifestivalen 2017 final: Audience poll results

  1. Wiktoria with “As I Lay Me Down” 17,42% (100 votes)
  2. Nano with “Hold On” 16,55% (95 votes)
  3. Robin Bengtsson with “I Can’t Go On” 14,46% (83 votes)
  4. Anton Hagman with “Kiss You Goodbye” 9,23% (53 votes)
  5. Benjamin Ingrosso with “Good Lovin'” 7,49% (43 votes)
  6. Mariette with “A Million Years” 5,75% (33 votes) *
  7. FO&O with “Gotta Thing About You” 5,75% (33 votes) *
  8. Owe Thörnqvist with “Boogieman Blues” 5,23% (30 votes)
  9. Jon Henrik Fjällgren feat. Aninia with “En värld full av strider (Eatneme gusnie jeenh dåaroeh)” 5,05% (29 votes)
  10. Lisa Ajax with “I Don’t Give A” 4,70% (27 votes)
  11. Ace Wilder with “Wild Child” 4,53% (26 votes)
  12. Boris René with “Her Kiss” 3,83% (22 votes)

* Tied at joint sixth and seventh places.

Melodifestivalenklubben emphasize that the jury rehearsals usually consists of more children than the actual show. The audience last night consisted of families, kids, teen and adults. They are also saying that the jury rehearsal had very few tickets sold.

Do you think Wiktoria will win or will there be a surprise winner? Let us know in the comments!

In my opinion there is only one choice in Melfest:
The amazing swedish song of Jon Henrik and Aninia …
… but i think that the winner will be some of the english songs.

However, i hope that tiden är nu = the time has come ,
for a really masterpiece song in Melfest .

”Agnete, who is a Sami, had mental health issues and refused to make public appearances and now Jon Henrik, also a Sami, has a similar problem. But maybe it’s just a coincidence…”

I don’t blame you, I blame the system that labels people that way. Please don’t get me wrong but I believe that in northern countries, the psychologists have too much power. Life is not a straight line, and it should not be a straight line.

1. Mariette
2. Jon Henrik feat. Aninia
3. Wiktoria

All other songs are okay, but not for the victory.

PS: Melodifestivalen is probably one of the best national selections. However, @William Lee Adams I think you spend too much time in it. For example, you reviewed some of the songs in the final separetely in several videos on your youtube channel. Instead you could make for ex. a review video of Australia’s entry, which is out a few days now. (or Ireland, or FYROM) You also made a review of the final and interviews with the artists the last 24 hours. I know the frand final of MelFest is tonight, but guys there are 3 other NF tonight. (Personally… Read more »

This final is open! There’s not a stand out song! All songs could win at the end of the night!

The winning wong will most likely be one of the 8 direct qualifiers.
However, my favourite Andra Chansen song is “Her Kiss” by Boris Rene. Love it!

Personal favourites to win tonight: Jon Henrik and Aninia, Mariette and Boris (probably no chance but love the song!)

Thinking about what I would like to see on the Eurovision stage, I would add Robin and Nano.

Good luck to all!
Looking forward to a wonderfull night!

1. Mariette
2. Jon Henrik ft. Aninia
3. Nano

fan favorite Wiktoria is on my 6th place, her voice is amazing, performance is interesting, but she lost a few points based on the song itself.
Sweden has got 6 songs that could do pretty well in esc.

Else choose for Ace wilder (song about sexs xd) or Robin Bengtsson (i really don’t like his song, but Europe will)

@Campbell Grace:

I’m sorry if my comment is insulting, I didn’t mean it that way. I just wanted to point out that I find it strange how last year Agnete, who is a Sami, had mental health issues and refused to make public appearances and now Jon Henrik, also a Sami, has a similar problem. But maybe it’s just a coincidence…

@peaceman
Ace’s song? ORIGINAL? Bye felicia. I like Ace but this is way too similar to ‘Busy Doin’ Nothin” and ‘Don’t Worry’. She won’t win.

@Axel
Disgusting comment and you should remove it. Absolutely narrow minded.

I really want JFH and Aninia to win but Wiktoria probably will which is okay she’s in my top three. Mariette deserves to win too but I just feel like she’s going to crash a little bit in the televote like she did in 2015.

No competition Ace wilder is the most original song and she deserves simply to go in kiev. Don t like wiktoria she s too much and the playboys robin anton benjamin a little bit useless

I hope the Swedes don’t mess it up yet again… I hope Wiktoria wins; I hated her Save Me song, but As I Lay Me Down is wonderful bubblegum-pop and I love it. Please, Sweden, as long as you don’t send Nano, everything is fine. I hope the international jury kills Nano’s song because obviously this year the Swedes seem to have a strange televote.

Does anybody else here think that ‘Save Me’ was much better than ‘As I Lay Me Down’ and wish that it would have won instead of AILMD that is most likely going to win?

Ace is low because she isn’t popular here. She hasn’t evolved since Busy Doing Nothin. She lost momentum lost year and won’t get it back this year. She’s considered a one hit wonder here.
The winner will be someone who won their semifinal: Nano, Mariette, Robin and Wiktoria. Out of this Mariette is the least likely winner
I do believe Wiktoria will win. Not overwhelmingly but still

Boogieman Blues will win the televote hands down. He is a Swedish legend and will get the vote from people who may have never voted again. However the jury vote will go against him and not knowing who the juries are going to vote for make this final so exciting. In my opinion the contest is so open. I can’t wait for this evening to watch the final. Good luck to all performers.

I think Ace will end up higher (8-5), mariette higher (5-3), and I think Nano ‘should’ win, but I won’t be surprised if wiktoria wins

@T:

Honestly, what’s with these Sami people and their mental problems? Is the extreme cold messing up their brains or something?

Better say Swedistan, there’s no Azerbaijan in the contest since 2008 and I see this year is no exception!

Wiktoria or Robin should win.

I think it’s best for Jon Henrik to not win. He has mental problems and I’m not sure he would be able to handle Eurovision. He even said that his friends are worried about what might happen if he would win and therefore will have to compete in Eurovision. He has cancelled basically all his interviews this week to focus on his health. Giving me Agnete 2016 vibes and we all know how that ended.

@ Filop – Ace’s style has never evolved. Nobody’s checking out for Busy Doin’ Nothin’ rehashes anymore, she needs to upgrade herself.

It’s gonna be super hard for us to choose tonight. I think Robin or Nano is gonna win the jury vote and wiktoria the televoters with Jon henrik as a close second. It honestly could go one way or another. What we do know is that here in Sweden different regions has their favorite. The north has Jon henrik, the south has wiktoria and Stockholm, where I live, has Robin and nano.

Colin

One of these should win: 1. Jon Henrik feat. Aninia, 2. Wiktoria, 3. Mariette

Robin has a great staging, but his song comes somehow off-putting to me. Same with Lisa. Anton – really? His song is so average. Nano and Ace are fine, though.

I’m really surprised Ace isnt asked about more this year 🙁 I get it’s hard to compete with Busy Doin Nothin’, but Wild Child is way better than Don’t Worry surely. Really hope she doesn’t do badly coz I’m scared she wouldnt come back
