Raphael Gualazzi Malika Ayane 2017 Italy Eurovision 2017

He’s the man who spectacularly took Italy to second place at Eurovision 2011 after their 13 year absence. And she’s a Sanremo veteran who’s gone on to become one of the country’s biggest popstars.

Now Raphael Gualazzi and Malika Ayane are joining forces on “Buena Fortuna”, the latest single from Raphael’s 2016 album Love Life Peace.

Raphael rarely shies away from his jazz roots, and “Buena Fortuna” is no exception. The  song’s soft ’70s sound immediately takes you back to a smokey lounge, and one almost expects an appearance from Burt Bacharach.

But the “Madness of Love” singer is not alone on this dreamy journey. He is accompanied by Malika Ayane, whose lovely voice blends beautifully with his raspy vocals.

The official music video shows a variety of people just enjoying life and being happy. The message is clear — it’s the little things that matter. Love the people you are with, sit back and relax. Life is not an endless race to success — an important lesson in this crazy modern world.

The duo are a musical match made in heaven. Maybe we should cross our fingers for a further collaboration in the future, and maybe even a Eurovision return for Raphael.

Who is Raphael Gualazzi?

Raphael was Italy’s choice for their big Eurovision comeback in 2011. He left a lasting impression, with “Madness Of Love” quietly claiming second place with 189 points, setting the standard for future Italian entries.

Before winning the Mia Martini award section at Sanremo 2011, the now 35 year old musician already had a promising career. He released his first album in 2005. After that he covered evergreens such as “Georgia On My Mind” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop”, showing everyone just how good of a musician he is.

Raphael has never relied on unnecessary flair when it comes to performing. The magic ingredients are his voice and his piano. Simple and elegant.

Who is Malika Ayane?

Malika Ayane — Raphael’s partner in crime — is no stranger to either the music industry or wiwibloggs.

After singing with the White Voices Choir in Teatro alla Scala from the age of 11 until 18, she released her first single in 2007. A very successful debut album followed in 2008 and she’s had a steady career in Italy ever since.

She’s competed at Sanremo sevreral times, including in 2015 when she finished third to Il Volo. That same summer she enjoyed massive chart success with “Senza fare sul serio” and featured in one of our Eurovision wishlists.

I was just seeking this information for a while. After 6 hours of continuous Googleing, finally I got it in your web site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that do not rank this kind of informative websites in top of the list. Generally the top sites are full of garbage.

As great as it was to see Italy return to Eurovision that year, the entry itself was awful.

The guy looked like a total mess.
