Donny Montell may have somersaulted his way into a top-ten place in Stockholm, but the Lithuanian pop star hasn’t been taking it easy. Donny has lent his vocals to the “Ten Kur Tu”, the new single from his The Voice of Lithuania mentee Justina.
After giving Lithuania its second-best Eurovision placing with “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night”, Donny has continued to work on his music career. In the past year, Donny has released acclaimed singles from his long-awaited follow-up album #BLCK, including “Fly” and the saucy “Screw Me Up”.
Prior to this, he appeared as a coach on Lithuania’s version of the talent show The Voice. In the third series of the show, Donny guided his act Justina to victory. He’s now taken to the studio with Justina to lend his vocals to her single “Ten Kur Tu” (“Right where you are”).
“Ten Ker Tu” is their first collaboration together. Donny wrote the song to showcase Justina’s emotions and great vocals whilst remaining true to his pop roots. Speaking exclusively to wiwibloggs, Donny Montell says:
The title of the song is “Ten Kur Tu”, which means “Right Where You Are”. The main idea of this song is that it doesn’t matter where we are, or what they say — the most important thing is that we are together here and now.
Justina is just starting her career in Lithuania. She is a talented singer who is already thinking about Eurovision for next year. Previously, she won Lithuania’s The Voice project. She was a part of my team and I had coached her.
