Lidia Isac auditions for TF1’s “The Voice: la plus belle voix”

She may not have made the final at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, but Moldovan beauty Lidia Isac just keeps on moving and, thankfully for all of us, she keeps on singing. Once again, she’s doing it away from her native country of Moldova. This time she chose France, more specifically the TV talent show The Voice.

The 2016 Moldovan representative auditioned for the sixth season of TF1’s The Voice: La plus belle voix, the same show where Amir started his career before representing France at ESC in the same year as Lidia.

Lidia’s blind audition was recorded back in January, but it was broadcast on French television TF1  last night. Lidia performed Robert Charlebois’s hit “Ordinaire”. Singer Florent Pagny turned his seat and the other judges praised her voice and her French. Now Lidia Isac is moving on to the next stages of the show.

Lidia explained why she chose a French chanson for her audition. “French is a very sensual language. Singing in French is like making love. I love it!”

Lidia is fluent in French and has also recorded her Eurovision entry “Falling Stars” in the language of Molière. This version was called “Pluie d’étoiles” and Lidia kindly performed it at the Wiwi Jam at the Hard Rock Café in Stockholm last May. Afterwards our team was shouting, “J’adore!”

The stunning singer posted several pictures of her Paris adventure on Instagram ahead of the show.

Now that we know about the audition it all makes more sense — and it’s clear she wasn’t just on holiday!

Eurovision’s connection with The Voice keeps on growing every year with singers trying their luck in both competitions. While most artists often have their big break on The Voice and then move to Eurovision, some prefer to do it the other way around, including Lidia, Aminata and Uzari. Last year Francois from Minus One passed the blind auditions of the show in France.

So, do you think Lidia Isac will be more successful on The Voice than at Eurovision? Do you think she can win the show? Let us know in the comments section below!
