She took the Oslo stage by storm at Eurovision 2010, bringing Albania straight to the final with the banger “It’s All About You”. Now, Juliana Pasha shows her emotional side with her latest single, the power ballad “Jeto” (Live).

“Jeto” is a heartbreaking ride which showcases how domestic violence, often sparked by alcohol, can tear a person apart and take away the strength to simply carry on .
But all is not lost. The woman finds the courage to say “enough is enough” and leaves to find a better life, one that’s far away from her abuser.
The single differs from Juliana’s playful Eurovision number sonically too. The epic violinist is nowhere to be heard, nor are her canon like backing vocalists. But Juliana’s voice is still there, as powerful and soulful as ever. We’re getting some serious “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” vibes.
The accompanying music video takes place in an apartment bloc where the victim is fighting for her existence and trying to protect her young son.
The woman is scared and helpless. But her concern for her child’s well being, as well as her own, becomes the spark that ignites the courage within. Juliana portrays the woman after she has left her abuser, when she’s finally facing a world without fear.
It’s a simple video but extremely powerful, tackling an issue that unfortunately still remains somewhat hidden in the modern world.

About Juliana Pasha
Even before her amazing Eurovision performance, Juliana was no stranger to the spotlight. She won the right to represent Albania in December 2009, having previously participated in Festivali i Këngës twice before.
In 2007 she finished third, singing a duet with Albania’s 2006 contestant Luiz Ellji. In 2008 she came second.
She’s also served as a judge on the Albania and Kosovo version of The X Factor. Europe finally got to see just how much of a powerhouse Juliana was in 2010, when she left her mark on the contest. She was even Hera Björk’s favourite artist of the year!
But Juliana is passionate about more than just music. She is also involved with a project called Hanna(PH), which fights relentlessly to remove the blood vengeance tradition in Albania. A fight worth fighting.
