Shalom! Team Wiwi has touched down in Tel Aviv for this year’s edition of Israel Calling. The Eurovision pre-party is in its second year, following the great success of the first edition held in 2016.

The event — which runs from April 3rd to 6th — includes numerous events for the ESC stars to enjoy. Activities include tonight’s live concert and a day of planting trees in the “Eurovision Song Contest Forest”. Eurovision is giving back to the environment, y’all.

Last night the acts hit the red carpet, slipping into their finest dress and doing a turn in front of our (iPhone) cameras. Check out each act as they appeared last night and posed and pouted for wiwibloggs.

Tonight’s concert will be live streamed on the Israel Calling Facebook page from 20:00 CET. You can follow the show by clicking here.

Did you forget Serbia or what???????????????????????????

hahahaha M_K, I hope you are not upset, nothing is aggressive of what I’ve said, just that nobody knows the rules in my country, nevermind following them. I know is wrong the way I am, but is not so bad as it sounds.

Everyhing’s fine, I think it’s an interesting topic to dicuss.

Oh, and I’m actually not a woman. 🙂

Again M_K, I promise this is my last message, I smell that you are a woman, but if you are a heterosexual man, just say something nice to a woman, she will not put you in jail right away, or maybe yes, but was worth it.

Here is a latest rumour from Israel.

@ M_K

Thank you for the historic context, and I hope that what I’ve said doesn’t look aggressive, but at the end of the day, do you respect all those rules?
You should say whatever you want about your country as long as it does’t hurt anyone, and about women, why is wrong to say something nice and stop if you notice in the next second, that she doesn’t want you?
Too many rules! I can’t follow, maybe is my problem.

Well, I just wanted to give you the historic context. In 1991, it was proposed by the President (and approved by the Chacellor) that the anthem shall only consist of the third verse. And according to the vast majority of the German poplation (including myself), this decision is indisputable. 🙂

I would never say ”let’s conquer other lands” but if I want to make a compliment to a single/unmarried woman, nothing can stop me. Period.

Sorry M_K, but I’m from Eastern Europe and if somebody would tell me how to sing my country’s anthem, me and all the citizens from my country would turn the world upside down, just like Ukraine does now.

@ soso

I know that the original poem was meant in a different way, but it has been decided officially that only the third verse is used.

Personally I think that the line including “Deutsche Frauen” is not acceptable in a modern day country. I think it’s degrading to women. From the context it’s obvious that they are treated as objects whom men decorate themselves with.

Just sing your anthem whatever it is, is nothing wrong about anything, is about regions, and the anthem says that above the regions is still the Germany overall.
Why do you accept anybody from your country or anywhere else, to tell you how to love your country?

M_K

@ soso

“Deutsche Frauen” are mentioned in the second verse of “Das Lied der Deutschen”. However, only the third verse serves as the German national anthem. Only very, very, very right-wing activists would sing the first or second verse in public. (Some people actually think that it’s forbidden to sing the first and second verse, but that’s a misconception.)

OMG Georgia was at Israel Calling, but not on the red carpet?
This year the news are so confusing.
Why so incomplete news?

I’m so amazed by Levina, so talented and calm, and always in control, these Deutsche Frauen are special, no wonder they are in the anthem.

And Francesco isn’t there as well.

I don’t think there is anything in this world that can make Levina nervous.
I like Serbia, she said that she is anti-star and she wears earth-friendly outfit.
Also the boys from Timebelle, they are so gentlemen, always say something to make the girl look good.
And Finland so nice and proper.
