Lena Lost In You 2017 Germany Eurovision 2010 2011

She’s the massively successful German popstar who first rose to fame after winning Eurovision 2010. Now, Lena is kicking off the promotional campaign for her upcoming fifth studio album Gemini with the release of “Lost In You”.

It’s the first new music from the songstress since her 2015 LP Crystal Sky, has it been worth the wait?

Writing on social media, the “Satellite” singer explains that the song is only available online (for now), and she’s just releasing it to prove that she’s still alive musically and working in the studio.

As with some of her previous hits, the new single is reminiscent of Ellie Goulding — which is most certainly a compliment in our eyes!

But just like Ellie, Lena continues to develop sonically as an artist. Compared to her last record, “Lost In You” has neither the dramatic flourishes of “Traffic Lights” nor the infectiously upbeat vibes of “Wild & Free”.

Instead, the mid-tempo synth-pop track takes a refreshingly minimalist approach. The sparse instrumental allows Lena’s flawless vocals to shine, even if they’re occasionally subject to a little digital trickery.

While “Lost In You” might not be up there with the Eurovision 2011 star’s most iconic hits, we’re already gagging for her new album to drop later in the year.

Lena Lost In You — Lyrics

I feel your voice crawl over my body, my body, mmm
Rip me in two ’cause with you I’m a savage, I’m a savage

And now that I’m high on you
There’s nothing wrong to do
Though I am lost in you
Don’t push me to look ’cause I don’t wanna find me
High on you
There’s nothing wrong to do
Though I am lost in you, in you

‘Cause I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you

I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you

You think it’s toxic, but I can’t get enough, can’t get enough, mhh
We’re already drunk so give me another shot, another shot

And now that I’m high on you
There’s nothing wrong to do
Though I am lost in you
Don’t push me to look ’cause I don’t wanna find me
High on you
There’s nothing wrong to do
Though I am lost in you, in you

‘Cause I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you

I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you

If I can find a way to get home again
And I lost all the maps that I thought were true
You’re right here by my side, make me whole again
Don’t need to find a way ’cause

I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you
I’m lost in you, you, you

I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you
Oh, I am lost
Oh, I am lost in you

You really make it seem really easy along with your presentation but I in finding this matter to be really something which I think I might by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely huge for me. I am looking forward for your subsequent submit, I’ll attempt to get the grasp of it!

Nothing wrong with singing in german (or any other target groups language) as long as you’ve really got something to say. If your song is all filled with boring boy meets girl clichees, i guess english or any other “foreign” language will be just fine, but even in this case using your mother tongue might enable you to write more original or even poetic lyrics.

I like the new song, but I’m a bit nerved about the comparison to Elli Goulding again and again. 😉
She’s one of the most successful German femal singer and a big social media influencer. She’s also a good singer, not a talker. She’s singing pop and not classical things … I hope she’s continuing singing in English, because it’s just a stupid fashion to sing in German. And a lot of singer doing it only for having more success. Very poor and boring thing.

@Poli – all her previous albums have charted at either #1 or #2 in Germany, as well as appearing in the top 40 in both Austria and Switzerland. She’s also a judge on the German version of Voice Kids. I’d call that successful tbh.

@M_K, my thoughts exactly!

@Poly
Instead of “massively successful popstar” I’d say “Eurovision-star” would be a more fitting description. But yeah, she is still known. She was in a hair color advert, for example …

Her German spelling is deplorable, and so is her punctuation. Show me some commas, gurrrl!

It’s probably for the better that she writes her lyrics in English… 😛

@Poli

She was an unknown before Eurovision, and now she’s still famous in Germany. ESC (and the victory) did her wonders.

Is she famous in Germany? I mean did ESC helped to boost her career?

@ben005 Because her target group likes contemporary English music. When you sing in German you are already part of a music scene, which is more successful with older people. Besides, German in music really doesn’t sound good and most songs are lyrically abysmal

@ Ay Jo – with all the talented artists we have here in Italy, the last person we’d want to send is an American who can’t speak Italian.

Omg she’s back snatching wigs. This ain’t no Traffic Jesus, but it’s good enough to burn my weave.

@ ben005 – do not shade her accent, it’s adorable ty

Lyrics of chorus part is similar to Laura Pergolizzi`s (LP) “Lost on you”.

I wish Italy would send LP to Eurovision. But,it is impossible.

And, Lena one of the worst singers I have ever heard. She is not a singer, she is a talker.

Why does she sing in English?

Shouldn’t she focus on German market? Or does she really think she can make better job with English lyrics?
