That’s what you call a perfect promo tour!

On Saturday — following a series of visits to Georgia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Israel — German singer Levina continued promoting her Eurovision 2017 song “Perfect Life” during a trip to Armenia.

The tour came to an end with an emotional visit to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, the country’s official memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, alongside Armenia’s Eurovision 2017 act Artsvik.

Levina on the road

This year German broadcaster NDR seems to have high ambitions at Eurovision. Even if Levina’s song isn’t exactly a fan favourite, she and her team are giving their all to show Europe who she is.

Besides taking part in various Eurovision pre-parties, she’s been traveling through Europe to promote her entry.

Over the past few days Levina visited the Armenian capital of Yerevan. She documented everything she did on her Facebook page. You can check out her “Trip to Armenia” gallery here.

Scrolling through the photos, one thing becomes clear: this girl really knows how to make an impression! Levina was omnipresent in the Armenian media, appearing on several talk shows and meeting her new fans.

She also enjoyed trying out typical Armenian food and even learned some folk dance moves. This girl knows how to slay!

On my last evening in Yerevan Artsvik and our guide Rima showed me some Armenian dance moves – thank you ???

The most emotional part of her journey, however, took place on Saturday.

Depi Evratesil-winner Artsvik met with her Eurovision comrade and took her to visit the Armenian Genocide memorial complex. It’s located on the hill of Tsitsernakaberd in Yerevan. Wearing black, Levina and Artsvik commemorated the victims of the genocide by laying flowers at the site.

But this isn’t the end of Levina’s tour! Before heading to Kyiv she will continue promoting herself in Macedonia, Hungary and Germany’s neighbour Austria. We’re really impressed by her packed schedule and hopefully the hard work will pay off in the end.

Levina’s revamped “Perfect Life”

Another factor of how well Germany will do at this year’s Eurovision is, of course, the song itself. After countless complaints that “Perfect Life” sounded similar to David Guetta’s “Titanium”, NDR promised a new Eurovision version, which finally dropped on Saturday. You can listen to the Eurovision version of Levina’s song here.

Thanks to new instrumentation, the “Titanium” segments have disappeared and sound significantly softer, but the melody hasn’t changed. Towards the end of the song, some elements have been added and Levina changed some notes which make the song a bit more edgy. But overall the changes aren’t that remarkable.

A lot of fans wanted a more notable revamp with elements from Levina’s official Madizin Remix. Do you think they should have gone with something like that? Or do you think the new version is a perfect “Perfect Life”? Let us know in the comments below.

I know this is just my opinion, but Perfect Life is absoloutley the worst song in the contest this year. I cannot stand it. It reminds me of these new wave Disney channel songs. I mean,it’s like something an up and coming teen star would release just for the sake of releasing something. I feel like the chorus reminds me of something I’ve heard already, just can’t tell what. Well, probably of exactly that – some lackluster Disney channel song. This is no hate to Levina – it’s not her fault the network has this dumb way of selecting their entries. You can… Read more »

I am german and i think it is great that she visited the memorial dont believe what these stupid turks say they already proved that they cant be trusted and dont belong to europe. germany was partly responsible for the armenian genocide as well the difference between the holocaust and the armenian genocide is that no one denies the holocaust but for some reason its ok to deny the armenian genocide personally i find this very disgusting and hypocritical im glad we officially say it is a genocide

I hope this doesn’t finish last. The song itself is very bland but that is the network’s fault for their weird show. Never good idea to force a generic song onto different people to compete with. Levina is a great performer, and her vocals are very good, and she’s cool! I like that she is promoting a lot all over and this was a nice gesture to visit Armenia like she did. But sadly I just can’t see this finishing better than 22nd maybe. I think Levina NEEDS to come back again another year with a song written specifically FOR… Read more »

The new ESC version softens the Titanium elements of the original versions. It’s better but still sounds a bit like Titanium.

Madizin Remix is the best.

I hope she will do well and not end in bottom 5. She is sweet and working hard.

The song is not great but it is radio friendly and not bad at all.

Germany is an automatic qualifier, that received 2493 songs this year for Unser Song.
Perfect Life is not a bad song, but other countries do better with less resources, this is why all those critics.

I hope she doesn’t come last… but I am not confident.
Yet, I give them credit for making changes.

P. S. Guys just try to leave politics out of this!

I think she has boring song..she will finish last.. all those politics wont help her. Why she didint visit Yad Vashem when she visit israel?? I think visting yad vashem should be more important to her since the Germans responsible for the holocaust and the murderd of 6 million jewish.

Ask Nikki from 2010 why she was brandishing Turkey’s flag when Azerbaijan won the contest. That explains a lot.

Yeah, then Azerbaijan must surely be involved. What a shame!

The reason why NIkki hold the turkish flag is that Turkey and Azerbaijan are brother countries, they speak the same language and both of the countries loves each other.

Germany, in fact, contributed to the genocide of the Armenians through policies that condoned it. It is also known that German government sanctioned German and Turkish officials who participated in the genocide’s implementation.
We know that the German Bundestag overwhelmingly approved a resolution recognizing the mass killing of Armenians by Ottoman Turks during World War I as genocide. But there was something else in it. This resolution also states that Germany bears some guilt for its inaction at the time.

Respects for her. Loads and loads of Armenians will vote for her for this. Well done, Levina. And I will vote for her from my own country. We need to get together to prevent other genocides. Because Turkey is not punished for the Armenian genocide, it is keeping an eye on Europe and it wants to take over it. Sadly, this is the price we are paying for not completely recognising the Armenian Genocide.

I am sorry, but you are completely delusional. We have no intention of taking over anyone, we are completely occupied with our own problems.

Why don’t you talk about Khojaly Massacre,March Genocide etc. where more than 100000 people died because of Armenians? If there is somebody that needs to be punished, it is Armenians and Russians.

Because it is not a genocide but a war crime committed by Azeri cutthroats from Azerbaijani national front? Because there weren’t 10000 victims but a few hundreds, which is horrible not less. Because the bodies of the note(!) meskhetian-turks were found near controlled by the Azeri forces Agdam city – not Khodjali this, so the killings of innocent inhabitants of this village should be called ‘Agdam killings’. Because your government officially stopped the investigation of this case in 90th? So why are you lying all the time? Why you lied about 10000? What stops you from googling – ‘genocide’ to… Read more »

Should other countries, starting from Azerbaijan, intentionally put artists to do the same? Dunno how you even deal so good with Iran, having that behaviour and hand-made monoethnicity…

From the snippet, the song sounds (99%) the same. I really like Levina, and I hope she ain’t finishing 26th just for that fact. I mean, if a semi-finalist finishes 26th, at least they can be happy they reached finals. When an automatic qualifier reaches the bottom, they know that’s the low as they can go. The song is so meh, but Levina is awesome.

It’s absolutely mind blowing that Perfect Life is somehow the best NDR can do. It’s a shame, since Levina is a talented girl.

I’m sorry but I still think it will finish last despite the promo. It has nothing that will attract the juries and I don’t think people at home will pick up their phones to vote for this. Germany needs to get a grip

aww Levina’s entry has been growing on me…and she seems like such a kind person

but yeah not one of Germany’s best (and I personally love every entry they’ve sent since 2010 (except 2013, I “just” like glorious)
