The votes in the OGAE Poll 2017 continue to roll in. And while it’s still to early to call the outright winner, things are certainly getting interesting as OGAE Ireland, OGAE Estonia and OGAE Azerbaijan deliver their points. Australia received points from all three clubs, while Ireland has put OG3NE on the scoreboard with one point. Let’s take a look!

First was OGAE Ireland, who give their 12 points to Italy, their ten points to Estonia and their eight points to Belgium. Ireland also had a five-point boost for Australia, and they were kind enough to throw a single point to the Netherlands, ensuring that OG3NE would not be without points in the OGAE poll.

Next up was OGAE Estonia. They had 12 points to give to Italy, ten points for Sweden and eight points for Bulgaria. Estonia also had some Baltic love for Finland, with six points going to Norma John. They also had four points for Australia and three points for Austria.

Finally it was time for OGAE Azerbaijan to reveal their votes. They stuck with the big favourites of the OGAE poll – 12 points to Italy, ten points to Sweden and eight points to France. Azerbaijan also gave seven points to Australia, meaning Isaiah now has a total of 25 points overall.

On the overall scoreboard, Italy has cracked the 300-points mark and comfortably holds the lead with a total of 311. Belgium is still in second place with 205 points, but Sweden is just one point behind in third place with 204 points. Can Sweden make it to second place?

The Netherlands is out of the zero zone and joins the scoreboard with their single point. But it’s Australia who has enjoyed the biggest leap. Their points total has almost tripled, from nine points to 25, and Isaiah is now sitting in 13th= place.

I’m Irish and I love the UK entry, I think it is wildly underrated! The kids love Italy but I will never want to hear it again once this is all over. I also predict Belarus to do well from the public vote – what’s not to like about it?

Sweden and Italy are so overrated this year! The Swedish singer is a wannabe Justin Timberlake with a generic, bland song and the only thing the Italian song has going for it is that it’s catchy. At least I can give Italy props that they’re not doing a song in English but I’m still really hoping another country wins besides these two. France seems like a good competitor!

If somebody cannot accept opinions, it is the Italians. Additionally, the sense of entitlement and superiority that it implied in most Italian posts is turning many non Italian voters off. Remember, you have to be voted best by other countries. You and Francesco can get some clues from Alma who is not trying to push her song down viewers throats. Additionally, none of the other top contenders has this kind of extremely rude supporters. Of course, rudeness is not limited to any nationality or group, but with Italians it really stands out as they do not state opinions or make… Read more »

Rly? What people see in this Italian song? Uhm, okay, I know it can be likeable, but every club is giving him first place? In my top it’s like 20. I really hope it will be max at 3 place in the grand final. Comparing this song to Loreen, Lena it’s so bad. Good luck anyway for everyone.

I think it’s a weak year. Francesco’s song is good and would have strong competition if we were in 2014/2015/2016. That’s why Italy is easily standing out this year.
Plus, many people are supporting non-English songs this year, specially because there hasn’t been any winner song without English lyrics since Molitva.

They gave Grande amore 10 points in televote in 2015, and the 12 went to Russia which isn’t competing this year, so Occidentali’s Karma might get Azerbaijan’s 12 televote points.

Albus Dumbledore

There is ABSOLUTELY no way Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine or Armenia give 12 points to Francesco…. Grande Amore is in a completely different league and quality music. To give Italy 12 points will be like insulting their own superior singers…. Of course, you need to understand the culture there to see that. I actually think that ehen it comes to jury and televote, there will be many other surprises–including the Scandinavian countries and central and eastern Europe (Poland, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Chech Republic, etc.) who will “surprisingly” deflect from Francesco… but let’s see:-)

I’m really surprised that the UK, Ireland and even Georgia haven’t scored better with the OGAE. The UK is polling mostly middle table in a lot of other polls and even in the betting odds.
Ireland has massively improved their game this year with a very credible ballad yet it still languishes near the bottom. I’d like to hope they’ll at least qualify and we’ll see the UK do better in the final.
