The OGAE Poll 2017 continues and next to reveal their points are OGAE Andorra and OGAE Greece. And both the microstate and the sunny Mediterranean country had some love for their neighbours, giving points to France and Cyprus respectively. No such luck for Andorra’s neighbour Spain, however. Let’s take a look!

OGAE Greece was first to reveal their points. Their favourites reflected some of the overall faves in the OGAE Poll 2017: 12 points to Italy, ten points to France and eight points to Estonia. Away from the top, Greece also had two points for neighbouring Cyprus and one point for Azerbaijan.

The microstate of Andorra might have last competed in Eurovision in 2009, but OGAE Andorra is going strong. They gave 12 points to Italy, ten points to Belgium and eight points to Sweden. Neighbouring France also picked up seven points from Andorra, but the microstate didn’t have any points for Spain‘s Catalan artist Manel Navarro.

On the overall scoreboard, things are very stable. Italy still leads with 371 points, Belgium is second with 257 points, and Sweden is third with 243. Rounding out the top five is France on 205 points and Estonia on 175.

The only change in rank has gone to Cyprus. Their two points from Greece was enough to move them from 22nd place to 21st — small but significant.

There are 11 OGAE clubs still to reveal their votes, including the heavy hitters from EC Germany, OGAE United Kingdom and OGAE Sweden. The results will continue to be released this week.

Some thoughts about our poll (OGAE Greece):
I agree with 12p(Italy),10 p(France) and 8p(Estonia)!
We gave Cyprus only 2 points? That was a shock! Ok, I didn’t expect 12p, but at least 6 or maybe 7! Meditterenean realness in 7p(Portugal) and 3 p.(Israel)
and some neighbouring love in 4p(Bulgaria).
Generally, it was more or less obvious!

In OGAE Andorra, between France and Spain, they prefered France!

Also, I think I watch more or less the same countries in most polls, but in a different order every time!

Cyprus get’s 2 points from Greece and that’s enough for Wiwi to turn it into a headline about neighbourly love :)))

When not even Andorra can be bothered to vote for us, it’s a sign that we Spaniards have done something terribly, terribly wrong with our song this year…

Correct. As a matter of fact he said that Ocidental’s Karma is one of the few entries which he can relate to. The rest? Not so much. He described the rest as hamburgers.

More points for Mr. Salvador. Not that i care about OGAE but it seems surprising this spread of love for Portugal. Usually they have a bad taste!

Apart from London, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, Germany promoted in FYROM, Georgia, Armenia, I don’t think will be last.
In the same time, I like Manel, and 100% believe that Manel and his song were the right choice in National Final.
My cold, rational prediction is that UK will be last, but I hope for something more…unexpected.

I seriously don’t get what do people see in the Italian song. It’s actually the worst entry they’ve had since they re-joined and the song is as rubbish as it gets. I can see it winning JESC but that’s as far as I’d rate it. I wouldn’t even put in the final at all, let along to win. I hope it will be a different story at the final night.

I agree partially. It was fun to listen to when it came out because it has decently catchy melody HOWEVER I got bored of it sooooo quickly. Their are a few other songs who are equaly as catchy and I haven’t got bored of.
For some reason I also can’t stand his live vocals…I feel like his vocals will let his song down so much with the juries…
This is no hate comment but just my opinion.
I hope for a win (ofcourse) for my country Belgium or if that is not the case Bulgaria

I respect your opinion, but according to you, we should put away our identity and language and sing in english so your mother and daughter can vote for us?????
Why an italian composer should limitate its creativity writting its emotions and notes in english???? Which is not its native language.
Sweden have decided to win ESC each year by sending songs in english. Perfect. It is up to you.
We are not. Who cares if you win or not. We keep our identity and originality.

Let it go, nudiecrudi, these are things that countries with weak idendity, above others, can’t understand.
The countries who chose to send song in 100% english just to increase the possibilities of victory are like anglo-colonials. And not only they sing in english but also imitate the worst radio commercial trash of overseas.

Read more »
