Final votes in the OGAE Poll 2017 continue to come in — and there have been a few surprises. OGAE Macedonia, OGAE Israel and OGAE Russia have revealed their votes, and it’s good news for Czech Republic and Serbia. The former nil-pointers are now on the scoreboard.

First up was OGAE Macedonia. Unlike most OGAEs, they did not give their 12 points to Italy. Instead the douze points went to Belgium, while Italy got 10 points and France received eight. Macedonia also saved neighbouring Serbia from the nil points wasteland by giving Tijana Bogicevic three points.

Next was OGAE Israel. Their 12 points went to Italy, ten points to Estonia and eight points to Sweden. They were less impressed with Belgium, but still gave Blanche six points. Israel was feeling the love for Montenegro and had three points for Slavko.

Russia might not be competing in Eurovision 2017, but OGAE Russia was still there to vote in the OGAE Poll 2017. And they were doing things a bit differently. Russia’s 12 points went to Estonia, their ten points to Portugal, and they only had eight points to give to the overall winner, Italy.

Russia didn’t have any points to give to favourites Belgium, Sweden and France, but they had a big fat seven points for Montenegro. Russia also saved the day for the Czech Republic. Their one point for Martina Bárta ensures that “My Turn” has finally made it to the scoreboard.

On the overall scoreboard, Italy is unbeatably locked in to first place, now with 437 points. Belgium is second with 290, and Sweden follows in third place with 284 points. France can be found in fourth place with 242 points, while Estonia is fifth with 218 points.

Montenegro has taken the biggest leap in the scoreboard. Slavko has gone from six to 16 points, which means a jump from 25th to 17th place on the board. Serbia and the Czech Republic make their debut on the scoreboard, taking up the two final spots.

Well I really like the song from Czech Republic. It has a beautiful sentiment and is sung with real feeling. Deserves to reach the final.

Thank you my friend 🙂 its nice finally to read here love comments for israel and other countries who are not portugal and Italy.
Did you see how much hate comments for israel and for her lovely singer imri? I dont understand that.i think its awful to the singer’s from different countries to read here the comments and to think that they do not have a chance to win.so lets skeep the competition if we already have a winner lol.

Well, I guess Italy is the obvious winner even if it is far from being my favorite this year. Occidentali’s Karma simply lacks the “Euphoria” or “Heroes” factor. For me it is just an entertaining song that I like to hear once or twice from the background in my office, but no way, not a winner. Maybe my number 15. I wish best of luck for Azerbaijan, Israel, Belgium, Australia, Bulgaria, Armenia and Hungary. Not in a particular order. They all are good.

I’m guessing that casual viewers will give higher rankings to Portugal, Norway and Ukraine – genres that OGAE folks tend not to support.

Casual voters will likely give lower rankings to Belgium, Bulgaria and Macedonia – songs that have awesome videos, but come across as tepid on their own.

Russia’s OGAE poll is weird. Estonia and Portugal got the top points! (ok, I don’t actually mind, as I love both songs), 8p to favourite Italy. Montenegro got 7 POINTS? That was a surprise! Seriously? The fourth best song this year is this? Overall, they seem to have voted some of their neighbours in the north (Estonia, Norway, Finland), 2 of the three countries in Kaukausus (not sure about the spelling, I apologize), Azerbaijan and Georgia. Also they voted some Balkan countries (Montenegro, FYROM)! Czech Republic got some points at last! It’s interesting I didn’t see Bulgaria getting any points,… Read more »

And Hovi was saved by juries.

“I feel alive” is not catchy and it’s not jury-friendly. Israel will need a fantastic staging this year.

Yeah but a “flat out dated” song can still be a better song than a retro song and I don’t mean any of this year’s entries at all. Is it a good song? That’s all that counts. Obsessions like these or similar reffering to genre etc make no sense. You either like something or you don’t

I do love the Italian entry but I do find it weird that it has the most OGAE Points ever when even clear overwhelming wins such as Rybak; Lena, Loreen and Emmelie didn’t even get over 300 points. And they won ESC easily witth literaly no competition what so ever! And Lena didn’t even win OGAE..

Don’t think this will reflect the final result at all!

Maybe most of people like italian song more than Loreen, Rybak, Emmelie and Lena. Is this possible? Yes it is.
Il Volo got more televote than Loreen, Emelie and Lena. And remember Il Volo sang in italian, the others in english…a big difference.
So it is very possible that italian song could get a higher vote than the up-mentioned artists

I may be wrong but I believe there were fewer clubs back in Rebak’s time, which explains why he didn’t have such a BIG number compared to Francesco.

You’re right.
The thing that it surprises me is that people don’t think that it could be possible for Francesco to get a very high top score.
Singing in italian, and without neighbour voting Italy got the second highest televoting.
Do we have to consider that Rybak sang in english and got all the votes from Scandinavians, Baltics and Ex-sovietic countries?

Polegend Godgarina
Reply to  nudiecrudi

Rybak would’ve won even if he had represented Malta, because he got big points from literally everyone. Just look at his televote receipts… only Switzerland gave it less than 6 points. Diaspora and neighbor voting is of course a reality, but a strong enough song can defeat them.
