Greece’s Demy projected herself onto an upside down waterfall. Armenia’s Artsvik worked Hindu-inspired hand choreography. And Poland’s Kasia Mos released dozens of white LED doves. And they were just three of the nine acts who had their first rehearsals at Eurovision 2017 on Monday. But who among today’s acts — Greece, Poland, Moldova, Iceland, Czech Reoublic, Cyprus, Armenia, Slovenia and Latvia — stole the show?

You can watch our reviews of today’s first rehearsals in the playlist below — and our “winners and losers” of the day video. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many countries as you like, but you can only vote one time, so make it count. Be sure to click the box next to each act you want to support before pressing submit.

WELL LET ME JUST SAY THAT I WAS NOT A BIG FAN OF GREECE BUT AFTER THAT REHEARSAL YESTERDAY NOT ONLY WILL IT QUALIFY BUT IT’S A SURE TOP 5 FOR FINAL MAYBE EVEN HIGHER! I HEARD NEWS THAT GREECE IS THIS YEARS OUTSIDER THAT NOBODY WAS EXPECTING BUT REMEMBER MY WORDS IT WILL GO VERY HIGH! I AM IN UKRAINE AND EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS! HER PERFORMANCE WAS OUTSTANDING AS WELL AS ARMENIA!! WAIT UNTIL THE SEMI FINAL AND YOU WILL SEE HOW THE ODDS WILL CHANGE AFTER!

Can u just calm down?)) This is funny. Journalists put Artsvik first, wiwibloggs too. And still there’s doubt that she will not win this poll. She is the only one who deserves. What did Greece? It’s like that song was written 29 years ago. Keep Calm!!!

It would better if the site would not allow voting for your own country. That’s the only way how to stop these guys I think.Yesterday when this poll opened Armenia was 4th for an hour and then in a few minutes it rose up to first place.

My winners: Sweden – it’s still the same concept, will look good on camera will appeal as it starts first. Australia – his voice saves him, his staging isn’t that wow but it does the job. Belgium – her voice is good, her staging is good, her song is good. Has the entire package. I like her a lot even if some people don’t. Portugal – magical, it’s a masterpiece. I’m pleasantly surprised. Moldova – it’s catchy, it’s fun – will catch people’s attention. Iceland – definitely amazing, I love it. Staging amazing, the staging goes with every single beat… Read more »

About Belgium, there where a lot of technical problem’s during the rehearsel. One problem was the light ball. They will use a Light ball during here act, but that didn’t work on sunday. So Let’s hope everything is fixed during here second rehearsal and she can deliver than e better preformance. If everything works fine without any technical problem’s than she will definitely qualify for the final and will be Top 3 in the semi final and Final.

My top 18 of SF1: 1. Georgia – Previously my 5th. Always adored it. Her voice is epic and beautiful. Message is also very thoughtful and important. Staging is great, full of red. Anything would be better than NF staging. 2. Czech Republic – Previously my 3rd. A warm and calming performance. I love it! I’d really like Czechia to qualify again! 3. Poland – Previously my 2nd. It’s a great song and Kasia has a powerful voice which she learned how to use correctly throughout the tour. She’ll slay the pack. 4. Moldova – Previously my 7th. Very good… Read more »

SF1:
I think Sweden will win the televoting and Finland the juries. Armenia might be the overall winner for ranking well with both. I believe Sweden is now out of the Top 5 in the Grand Final (because of the juries).

About Belgium, it wasn’t good for sure. However, I think the press want a favourite to flop, cuz more drama = more exciting news.

But international juries were what led Robin to victory in Melfest, right? The idea that juries pick the more substantial songs seems to be misplaced. If anything, they are more impressed with superficial elements such as staging and effects (Mans placed first and the juries hammered Il Volo).

He won against those songs in the Swedish NF. In the Grand Final on May 13th he will battle 26 new songs.
But I agree and I’ll never get the fact that Italy was 6th and Estonia 11th with the juries in 2015, while Sweden won with more than 100 points ahead of Latvia. If comercial potential is analyzed, why Love Injected wasn’t a bigger hit than the first two? What the juries are really looking for?

(I’m Polish so I can’t be objective in that matter, but…) Are you serious? Is there no possibility that people from Europe can actually like Polish entry? Being objective in polls is really important, but what is your proof of that statement that the majority of people who has been voting on Poland come from Poland? Because OGAE does not appreciate Kasia? LOL. And I’m replying on your comment not because it is negative, because everyone has its own taste of music, but because… Read more »

According to the two press polls, the top 10 qualifiers from Semi Final 1 will be:

1. Armenia 100
2. Finland 72
3, Moldova 69
4. Azerbaijan 65
5. Portugal 64
6. Cyprus 40
7. Sweden 39
8. Australia 37
9. Latvia 30
10. Greece 22

I know…not very accurate, especially because of the two separate polls. However it gives you an indication of how the staging compares and perhaps an insight into how the juries will react. Early stages though, things could change.
