Over the past week we’ve seen a whole lot of white dresses turn up in the rehearsals at Eurovision 2017. There have been figure-hugging dresses, loose capes, sequins, silver embroidery and metres and metres of white organza. But who has the best white dress? We asked wiwibloggs readers, and your favourite white gown belongs to Kasia Mos of Poland, with 21.48% of the vote.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a lot of white wardrobe at Eurovision. Kasia joins the winner of our 2015 poll Polina Gagarina, and 2013 winner Margaret Berger in the Wiwibloggs White Dress Hall of Fame. But let’s take a look at who topped the 2017 poll.

First place: Poland – Kasia Mos

The bodice of Kasia Mos’s dress is in a tight bandage wrap style, leaving no room for error. The skirt has a shorter inner layer, with a longer outer layer of the ubiquitous sheer white organza fabric.

The gown gives a simple but strong look, and works with the white on blue graphics on the LED wall behind Kasia. The dress accentuates the classic elegance of Kasia’s song “Flashlight” but adds a modern twist with the asymmetrical bodice. And as we’ve seen in the rehearsal videos, when Kasia is wearing this dress, she slays.

Second place: Malta – Claudia Faniello

Claudia’s figure-hugging dress shows off her curviliciousness. The elegant gown is made from a shimmering fabric and features a V-neckline that further works with Claudia’s hourglass figure.

Claudia doesn’t move around when she performs her power ballad “Breathlessly”, but her gown brings visual energy to the performance, sparkling in the lights. The dress also shows up Claudia’s dark golden curls and provides the perfect frame for close-ups. Malta tested two other gowns before deciding on this one, and Wiwi readers agree they made the right choice.

Third place: Austria – Nathan Trent

It’s not all women who are rocking white. Nathan Trent can be found wearing a light white jacket over a white t-shirt, contrasting with off-white 7/8th-length trousers that give us a hint of ankle. He matches this with white sneakers.

Nathan’s staging takes place on a moonlit night, so the white outfit ensures he stands out on stage. It brings a simplicity to the performance and doesn’t distract from the “walking on air” visual trick at the end. We love Nathan’s perfectly coordinated white winged sneakers!

Poll results: Who has the best white dress of Eurovision 2017?

  1. Poland: Kasia Mos 21.48% (1,771 votes)
