Eurovison detractors love to say the contest’s songs are disposable tosh unworthy of the radio. Well the iTunes charts suggest otherwise. This year’s artists — led by winner Salvador Sobral — are currently climbing the iTunes charts all over the world, proving that there is an appetite for Eurovision music at home and abroad. Below is a list of all the songs charting in the Top 10 of iTunes as of Monday at 13:30 GMT.

Portugal’s Salvador leads the way, having topped the iTunes charts in 15 markets: Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Greece, Finland, Norway, Cape Verde, Portugal, Sweden, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Lithuania, Switzerland, Ukraine and Mozambique.

“Amar pelos dois” is also #2 in Belgium, Romania, Poland, Slovenia, Denmark, Estonia, France and Germany; #3 in Belarus; #4 in Hungary; #5 in Moldova; #7 in Azerbaijan; #9 in Macau; and #10 in Israel.

Belgium’s Blanche is also lighting up the charts with “City Lights”.

She’s currently #1 in Belgium and Estonia; #2 in Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Greece, and Sweden; #3 in Austria and Poland; #4 in Norway, Armenia, Lithuania; #5 in Germany, Finland and Switzerland; #7 in Portugal; #8 in Spain; #9 in Ukraine and Hungary; and #10 in Denmark.

Bulgaria’s Kristian Kostov, who finished second at Eurovision, is topping the market at home. He’s also #3 in Slovenia; #6 in Sweden; #8 in Romania; #9 in Greece; and #10 in Norway and Portugal.

Moldova’s Sunstroke Project, who shocked many by achieving third place at Eurovision, are #4 in Sweden, #5 in Belgium, #6 in Moldova, #7 in Luxembourg, and #8 in Germany and Austria.

Pre-contest favourite Francesco Gabbani from Italy sits at #5 in Italy, #6 in Spain and #10 in Sweden.

Sweden’s Robin Bengtsson, who was the most streamed Eurovision artist on Spotify ahead of the contest, has reached #3 in Estonia, #5 in Sweden and #7 in Ukraine.

Other artists cracking the iTunes Top 10 charts are: Hungary’s Joci Papai (#2 at home); Norway’s JOWST (#2 in Norway, #7 in Lithuania, and #10 in Ukraine and Hungary); Romania’s Ilinca & Alex Florea (#6 in Norway); Austria’s Nathan Trent (#7 in Austria); The Netherlands’ O’G3NE (#3 at home); France’s Alma (#5 in France and Armenia); and Ireland’s Brendan Murray (#1 in Armenia and #5 in Slovenia).

Special shout-out to the United Kingdom’s Lucie Jones who has reached #14 in the notoriously difficult UK market.

Ireland is #1 in Armenia? And, Artsvik is nowhere near the top 10 in Armenia. Like, what is happening?

The portugeuse song isn’t particularly a radio song, but still it’s top in 15 countries. That’s how you slay! It’s unexpected but welcome!
Well done to Belgium and Bulgaria. Current, radio friendly but quality songs.
I’m not surprised by Moldova, Sweden and Italy. However, I’m impressed Italy is in the top 10 of only 3 countries.
Another unexpected entry is the Hugarian. It’s interesting he cracked the top 10 but it’s home, so rather obvious.
Glad for Austria and France!

ITunes is pointless….. If 10 people would download a song in my country it would reach Top 100 here…..let’s see if it can be sustained though.

From what I see…. All songs except Moldova are dropping fast in Spotify streams. Probably because no one expected Moldova to do so well and only now its streams have increased.

Is it true that Måns Sell me Love are asked to host UK-national selection or is it just a rumor?

Amar pelos dois is also #12 in the UK iTunes chart, which is amazing for a eurovision song that isn’t pop and in a foreign language!

Question is – is Sobral happy about this or does he still think “everything will be forgotten in a few months”…
I am happy for Portugal and his win, but to be honest, his attitude really bugs me.
Saying “real music won”, in a year when several artists wrote their own songs (Austria, Hungary,…), had a message (Hungary, Italy,…) seems like a kick in the butt.

Salvador said thatone of his favorite entries from this years contest was Italy’s because of its meaningful and satyrical lyrics. He wasn’t talking about ALL the songs in the ESC, but about many of them who are just recycled, poppy and dull, and he’s completely right about that.

His attitude???? His a great guy. Everybody loves him here in Portugal. He is very spontaneous and commited to his music. But he is very funny too. But always always with the heart in his mouth. He talks what he feels and thinks with no filters. Once in a concert during a silent moment he exclaimed “oh what a silence, good that nobody farted. You must agree that many Eurovision musics were more concerned with the staging and show than with music. That was his message. He relied only on the song and not on fireworks, waterfalls or whatever. He… Read more »

It has become a huge hit song in Armenia as many other French songs from Eurovision, like Patricia Kass, Amir etc. Armenians like songs sent by France. And Alma was just so spectacular. I’d dream in meeting her st least once. Pure beauty.

I had a pleasure of sharing an AirFrance flight KBP-CDG with Alma! Everyone applauded when she walked in, pilot made a special announcement and crew immediately started sporting “Embrasse Moi – Alma” buttons.
She didn’t have any entourage (just her mother or assistant) and travelled economy class – humble and sweet young woman.

Sad to see some of the charts. Lucie Jones deserves more recognition. She’s really underrated.

And the hobo’s lullaby is ridiculously overrated. Best ESC winner, even better than Loreen? Jeez! #notmywinner.

It’s Portugals first time wining ESC, thats why. And In my opinion, I think Loreen is way more overrated than Salvador, lol. Get over it. They won, they deserved it. And let Portugal enjoy their deserved victory.

Can people have an opinion without EVERY ONE of you saying “Get over it”! Can Y’ALL GET OVER the fact that there are people, like me, who aren’t enjoying this win, thanks! Like IT’S NORMAL to have people who don’t like/enjoy/love a song/winner whatsoever!

Ofcourse you can. I’m not saying you have to like or love the song. But more like, we can argue about it, but that won’t change the fact he won. You don’t need to get that mad, we’re all people with different taste. And I do respect your opinion, cause last year I didn’t like the winner either.

Of course you can..but im a little tired of those “notmywinner” . A song who was elected by the juries and by the televote has no possible discussion. Fair winner!
It was a smashing victory for Portugal I just cannot believe ithe way they finally made it!
