We got this! OG3NE achieve gold status for debut album and extend national tour

They’re the Dutch girl group who achieved a very respectable 11th place in the grand final of Eurovision 2017.

And, following their breathtaking performance of “Lights and Shadows” in Kyiv, OG3NE have endured a very hectic period that included an appearance on RTL Late Night last Friday.

During the show the sisters — known to friends and family as Lisa, Amy and Shelley — received some very good news.

Their album We Got This — their first released under the name OG3NE — achieved gold status, denoting that they have sold more than 20,000 copies.

The album, a mix of new songs and covers of existing ones, includes their inspirational Eurovision track “Lights And Shadows”, which took inspiration from their mother’s ongoing battle with cancer.

Nodding to the significance of the song and its important place in their ever-expanding oeuvre, they also include an acoustic version of the song on the album.

Another masterpiece on the album is “Clown”, the Emeli Sandé hit which they covered to critical acclaim on the television show The Best Singers Of The Netherlands.

The album has already topped the Dutch album charts, so its golden status is icing on the cake.

During the same show the girls also talked about the emotional topic of their mother.

Their mom Isolde, who surprised the girls by flying to Kyiv ahead of the grand final, has a rare bone tumour and has been fighting cancer for several years.

Last month she made the decision to stop medical treatment, which is extremely taxing on the body and spirit, and which doesn’t always succeed in its goals.

We’re sending the sisters of OG3NE and their family lots of strength and #wiwilove during this trying period.

OG3NE: Three times a lady

OG3NE’s mother is no doubt incredibly proud of her girls, whose theatre tour Three Times A Lady moves from strength to strength.

So much so that its been extended by a whopping 56 shows at the end of 2017 and into 2018 to accommodate demand.

The girls have also been invited to countless gigs, including Dreamfields, Dutch Valley and Pride Park in the Amsterdam Vondelpark.

Given that their Eurovision entry “Lights and Shadows” has already amassed over four million downloads, we expect plenty more offers to come through the pipeline.
