In recent weeks he has been werking his Latin tongue and serving Iberian flavor, releasing “Fino A Che Volerò” and “Aire” — the Italian and Spanish versions of his Eurovision 2017 hit “Running on Air“.

And on Monday night Austria’s Nathan Trent dazzled crowds in his hometown Innsbruck with an orchestral rendition of Salvador Sobral‘s “Amar Pelos Dois”, with papa Trent on the violin.

He may not speak Portuguese fluently, but that accent is doing it for us. Oh, Nathan!

The two-minute snippet is enough to keep us enchanted for the rest of the month. Performing with the Tiroler Symphonie Orchestra, Nathan’s smooth, angelic vocals fit the orchestral rendition of the Eurovision 2017 winning song like no other.

Once again, Austria’s new sensation shows his versatility. Give him pop, give him R&B, give him jazz — he delivers every single time, usually with cuteness overload and always with charisma. Say it with me: that is how you slay!

“I’m so thankful to have been able to sing this song with an orchestra.”, Nathan says exclusively to wiwibloggs. “It was a great honor to sing Amar Pelos Dois, especially knowing that my dad was playing along with me.”

Of course it would be impossible to throw a gig in his home city without singing “Running on Air”. It’s yet another version of the song, adding to the smooth sounds of the Italian language and the breezy, beach-time sound of the Spanish one.

Nathan, a master of the tongue who speaks five languages, consistently wowed us with his English skills throughout the Eurovision season and now adds Portuguese to the bucket list. That makes six!

So that’s:

  1. German and Italian
  2. English
  3. Spanish
  4. French
  5. Portuguese

The Portuguese language may come in hand, as Nathan has already confirmed for the 2017 edition of the Eurovision Live Concert — The Celebration in Portugal later in September.

What do you think of Nathan’s rendition of  “Amar Pelos Dois”? Do you think he nailed the Portuguese language and made his father and Portugal proud? Tell us in the comment section bellow!

Doesn’t like this version. Maybe he is more fit into cheerful song rather than sad love song

This guy is incredible, being able to sing in so many languages. This version of Amar Pelos Dois isn’t quite as magical as the original(s), but it’s still good.

Maybe as he does not look in pain while he sings it?

What a homage! Great interpretation. Now, this is THE real ‘staying power’. A non-Portuguese singer risking singing a song with an orchestra in a language that he doesn’t speak. It also shows how the song was appreciated by the singers in Kiev.

Only teardrops.

I mean, Nathan does what he needs to do to stay relevant, and will apparently fail in the long run (like even ESC winners usually do), but Austrian classical orchestra + his voice and charisma + Amar pelos dois = Match made in Heaven… <3<3
