She took “My Number One” to number one at Eurovision 2005, using men, ropes and high impact choreography to create a very memorable stage show.

And all these years later Helena Paparizou is still serving the magic, as she proves with her cover of “Ora o Mai Piu” — which Dolcenera originally sang at Festival di Sanremo 2016.

The song is included on Helena’s Spotify playlist Summer Extended 2017. “Tora I Pote (Ora O Mai Piu)” caught our attention as it’s the Greek cover of the Italian-language original.

The Italian original

Dolcenera may have come 15th at Sanremo, but Helena is definitely on to a winner with her cover.

To make things extra special she performed it as a duet with Tamta, a Georgian singer who is famous in Greece owing to her participation in Super Idol Greece, where she placed second.

Eurovision fans may remember that Tamta hoped to represent Greece at Eurovision in 2015, but unfortunately her record label failed to submit her song in time for the national final.

Tamta previously tried to represent Greece in the contest in 2007 with the ballad “With Love”. Her blooming hair and shirtless sidekicks were not enough to secure victory.

In any case, their duet is full of emotion, with both ladies emoting with every single note.

The song is about seizing the moment and not waiting for things to happen on their own. ‘Cause guess what: you need to take action now.

“There is no in between, just no and yes,” they sing. “One night here, I may have lost the fight, but I will win this war. Now or…”

Are you feeling the collaboration between Helena and Tamta? Would you like to hear them sing more songs together? And would you like to hear Helena taking on more Sanremo songs? Let us know in the comments box below.

Now or Never

And it’s time to live again
I lose and I win
I live now
One moment here today
And time is a torture
Now or Never

There is no in between
Just no and yes
One night here
I may have lost the fight
But I will win this war.
Now or…

No more “tomorrow”s
No more tears
I have my life again
And I’m not afraid to live it
I have faith and dreams
Neither yesterday but nor later
Now the heart burns
Now or never

The nights will turn into days again
I will not live in fear any more
Miracles need strength
And maybe I’ll learn how they happen
Now or never

No more “tomorrow”s
No more tears
I will close the door behind me
And I’m not afraid to live anymore
I have faith and dreams
Neither yesterday but nor later
Now the heart burns
Now or never

I move on with my life
I have faith and dreams
Neither yesterday but nor later
Now the heart burns
Now or never

If you really want to get angry, go onto youtube and view Tamta’s song “Unloved”.

“Unloved” was originally going to be part of the Greek selection in 2015, but Tamta withdrew for some unknown reason. Instead Greece sent Maria Elena Kiriakou with “One Last Breath” to Eurovision.

Had Tamta gone instead, Greece could have done quite well that year I believe.
