So far this year’s she’s covered a “Sister Act” classic with a group of nuns and performed for His Serene Highness Prince Albert at his palace in Monte Carlo.
And earlier this month Croatian cellist and Eurovision 2016 alum Ana Rucner added more intrigue to her CV by re-working “Despacito” — the reggaeton single from Puerto Rican stars Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
Ana slows things down and lets her cello take the instrumental lead before she delivers some breathy vocals that give the track sensual lift.
It’s breathy and seductive — all enhanced by Ana wearing a red satin robe and silk stockings while playing in a candlelit room adorned with rose petals. Yes, please!

Speaking exclusively to wiwibloggs, Ana said the cover embodies her love of music.
With this performance, as well as with the video itself, I wanted to illustrate to listeners and viewers the feelings I experience while playing the cello. For me, as an artist, classical music is perfection. Many times while I am performing, I think about love, passion and a multitude of different emotions. Art is a completely different world that can’t be understood by a person who isn’t living it. Being a musician is not a job, it’s a lifestyle. The only stronger emotion for me, which can not be measured, is motherhood. It brings me down to earth in my daily life and, besides my music, gives me the meaning of life.
I often look for inspiration in the people I love, so that’s why this video is also dedicated to a special person. He is a beautiful man to whom I wish all the happiness in this world. With this video I want to thank him for all the beautiful moments he has given me. For a moment he became my cello and for that I’ll be endlessly grateful to him.
