He’s a Russian heartthrob who splits his time between Los Angeles and Moscow, regularly wowing his global fan base with some seriously scintillating Instagram pics.

And on Thursday Alexey Vorobyov set hearts racing once again with the release of “I Love You” — a sweet new single oozing a 1950s, doo-wop sound.

Deliberately channeling an American oldies vibe, the Eurovision 2011 star pleads with his beloved to whisper those three magic words. As he says: “Tell me: ‘I love you, I love you.'”

Judging from iTunes Russia, his fans are already chanting what his lady won’t.

The song quickly climbed to #1 on iTunes, moving past Charlie Puth, P!nk and Vanotek in the process.

Alexey shared a screen grab of the iTunes charts with his 2.9 million followers along with a caption punctuated by heart and fire emojis: “In the first 2 hours…I love first place in the POP chart of iTunes…”

Alexey, who rose to fame on the Russian version of X Factor in 2005, sang “Get You” at Eurovision 2011.

Written by internationally renowned producer RedOne, the song placed 16th.

But it led to a lasting friendship with Alexey making a cameo in RedOne’s 2016 music video “Don’t You Need Somebody?” alongside J.Lo, Ronaldo and Ryan Seacrest.

Are you loving Alex’s latest song? Do you like his take on a vintage genre? Let us know below!

Sis you can’t deny that some words are overused in Russian song titled. I could literally translate all the titles on a playlist with Russian music because of that.

Much skinnier? William is very slim and 6 years ago he looked extremely thin. I’m not sure if “much skinnier” can be applied to him:-)

Alexey has a video with 166mln views on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d8EH2Ozlss ad it never was in top-10 of Russian itunes. No correlation at all. If the video was on his official channel, i might have had more views.
