Last week your favourite Georgian ”Warrior” wowed an audience of over 10,000 in her home country at the Black Sea Arena, performing her the genre-defying songs “Locked Box”, “Heart Won’t Suck It“, “Vision of Mind” and “Spiritual”.

And on Thursday Nina Sublatti kept the momentum going with the release of her latest single ”Home”, which will appear on her forthcoming album.

”Today I released ‘Home’, a song just for you all!” she wrote in a Facebook post. ”Hope you guys love it as mush as I do. Enjoy it on iTunes!”

The song opens with a dark, almost mournful instrumental that lasts nearly 50 seconds. When Nina finally enters, she makes it clear she has places to go. As she says, “I’m leaving my home.”

The instrumentation is hard to define, but includes deep throbs, digital horns, and a touch of strings and piano, the latter used sparsely to create haunting accents in what could be considered an eerie, other-worldly song.

The mystical and hypnotic sound make sense. Nina — she of black feathers, clouds of smoke and tearful eyes at Eurovision — wrote it herself.

Unlike so many Eurovision artists, who disappear from the scene shortly after the contest, she’s managed to carve herself a niche in Georgia — and one built on her identifiably “Nina” sound. Even if you can’t comprehend her tracks, her voice draws you in and keeps you there.

A quick scan of social media reveals plenty of positive reviews. ”Moody! I love it!” a Facebook user named John wrote on Nina’s official page.

Another user asks her when the track will be available on her Vevo channel. This Georgian warrior is in demand!

NINA SUBLATTI AT EUROVISION 2015

At Eurovision 2015, Nina took Georgia back to the Grand Final and recorded an impressive 11th place result. She helped Georgia finish ahead of both of its Caucasus neighbours Armenia and Azerbaijan for the first time in the country’s history.

Her Eurovision entry “Warrior” was hugely popular among both the Wiwi Jury and our readers, taking home the titles of best music video for her cinematic masterpiece and best female vocalist for her performance in Vienna.

Warrior was great. Also one of the great comedy moments when her smoke machine blew up!

OMG I love this song! It has great such a good vibe, quite sad but not too sad. And instrumentals fit Nina’s voice perfectly.
