Sydney calling! Australia has announced that Isabella Clarke will represent the land Down Under at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Next stop? Tbilisi!

Speaking exclusively to ABC ME’s ‘News To Me’, Isabella said that she is ‘super excited’ to sing for Australia. She’s known about her top-secret selection for a month and it’s been quite the chore keeping it under wraps.

Isabella is staying tight-lipped about her song for the contest. We’ll all have to wait until the official reveal on October 8.

The 13-year old only started singing four years ago, but quickly made a name for herself on the Australian music scene with her powerful voice and sassy stage presence.

She holds the Principal Vocalist position in The Victorian State Schools Spectacular, singing in front of a 10,000-strong crowd at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

She’s also covered the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. Go big or go home, right?

Australia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

This year marks the third year that Australia is taking part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, debuting in Sofia in 2015 and placing 8th with Bella Paige’s “My Girls” — a song originally penned for Anja Nissen, the Australian native who represented Denmark this year at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv.

In 2016, Alexa Curtis represented the Aussies in Valletta with “We Are”, placing 5th.

This year also marks the first time that Australia has not selected a former contestant from The Voice Kids.

With her strong voice and mature stage presence, we’re looking forward to seeing what Isabella can deliver  in Tblisi.

Great! Wonder how ABC will do at their first Eurovision outing and if their mates at SBS will still help (ABC and SBS are both of our public broadcasters)
