She’s the Spanish songstress who won Operacion Triunfo 2006 and placed third overall in Spain’s national selection in 2010. And in a recent interview with VivaEurovision, Lorena Gómez made it clear she still has that Eurovision passion. She revealed that she would consider going to Eurovision — so long as it’s a real and complete proposal.

Speaking to the Spanish-language Eurovision site, Gómez explaned her position. “I’m not going to reject Eurovision any more,” she said. “So who knows — I will leave all possible paths open.”

Gómez also cites voting as a concern, along with a good entry: “It would be nice going to Eurovision with a strong entry and having everything be real. From voting to everything, it has to be real.”

In fact, we’ve heard a similar position from the Spanish diva before. In early September, speaking to the same Eurovision site, Lorena expressed her desire for the contest to be more honest.

“I would love the festival to be more transparent, as it was in the past, in the times of Massiel’s ‘La, la, la’.”

Asked about her comeback in Spain, Lorena is ready to serve it. Her participation in the fifth edition of Tu Cara Me Suena (Your Face Sounds Familiar To Me) has been the perfect chance for her to shine again in her home country. Her rendition of India Martínez was simply stellar!

Now with a new single out, she’s unstoppable. “Indomable” (Untameable) is a song full of energy and power, serving true Latin fire. She teamed up with David Santisteban for this new one — he’s the man behind María Isabel’s “La Vida Es Solo Una“. And she’s now signed with Universal Music Spain! Slay!

Lorena explains the meaning behind “Indomable”:

It’s the representation of rebellion, of the awareness after hitting bottom. It represents the transformation towards our inner strength. It’s the struggle of oneself, the conviction that ‘those who know to wait, win’ is applicable in a lot of aspects of life.

Official date for Operación Triunfo 2017

The awaited comeback of RTVE’s Operación Triunfo 2017 already has a broadcast date. Mark your calendars, the drama starts on October 18! Yas!

As the Spanish site FormulaTV reports, the show’s producers are already calling for audiences to join the show. But is Wednesday — the chosen time slot — the best day for Operación Triunfo? It’s a popular night on Spanish television, with Spain’s major channels saving their biggest shows for that night’s primetime line-up. All we can say is: May the odds be in your favour!

Do you think Lorena could be a good Spanish representative? Either way, please share your thoughts below!

Why does Wiwibloggs keep coverting news about artists that have never been part of Eurovision? Who cares about this people who are often not even relevant in their own countries.

The contest was more transparent in 1968? During the Franco regime? There’s an hour-long documentary about supposed vote rigging the year that Massiel won. There was also the controversy surrounding Joan Manuel Serrat’s replacement before the contest. What kind of message is she trying to deliver here?
