He’s the Russian pop sensation who placed third at Eurovision 2016 and recently warmed our hearts, posing with his baby son Nikita in the video for his single “Tak Krasivo“.

And though he has his hands full with the hype campaign for his forthcoming studio album, Sergey Lazarev has found time to show off his versatility by taking a small role in the Russian dub of The My Little Pony Move.

The film, which was released to Russian cinemas on October 5, tells the story of Princess Twilight Sparkle, her five friends and assistant dragon. Sergey hasn’t lent his voice to a pony though.

Instead he’s voicing a mischievous alley cat named Capper, a “cunning” but “good-hearted” con artist. Awww.

Discussing the news on Instagram, Sergey revealed that he sees the role as a way of giving back to his many younger fans:

“I’m sure that the cartoon will be liked by kids!”

The part of Capper was voiced in the English language version by Broadway and TV star Taye Diggs.

SERGEY LAZAREV ON TOUR

Besides promoting the album and recording his part for the movie, Sergey’s also been busy on his never-ending tour schedule.

Sharing a snap from a performance in Veliky Novgorod, one of Russia’s most historic cities, Lazarev revealed that one of his favourite songs to perform on the tour is “Find Me”.

Fans hoping the Russian star will return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 may end up disappointed though.

When wiwibloggs caught up with Sergey in Azerbaijan during Zhara Fest this July, the star revealed he’s unsure about a return and waiting on finding a suitable song to sing.

With a movie role, national tour and baby son on his plate, we think you could forgive Sergey for not adding Eurovision 2018 to his list of priorities to boot.

Sergey has confirmed that Kontopoulos is involved in several of songs on his upcoming album. And the “national tour” only has two dates in April right now. Also, Kirkorov has hinted about a “revenge” on New Wave. Get your facts right, guys. Xoxo

Um, not to state the obvious, but the article above does not rule out his participation. It just says he is busy so it’s understandable that he may not compete. You, on the other hand, make wild speculation connecting some circumstantial facts. So check your precision with English.
