Il Volo Grande Amore Dancing With The Stars Ukraine

They’re the operatic trio who recently became VEVO certified. And on Sunday night, Il Volo dropped by the Dancing With The Stars Ukraine studio to perform their biggest hit — “Grande Amore”, the Italian entry for Eurovision 2015.

Bathed in gold light, Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto were more casual in appearance compared to in Vienna. While still looking dapper in navy suits, only Ignazio wore a shirt with the other two opting for t-shirts. All three completed their look with sports shoes.

As for the performance, well the audience’s reaction speaks for itself. The song may be approaching its third anniversary, but it still packs a strong emotional punch. Note perfect,”Grande Amore” is every bit as captivating as the first time we heard it. They won the 2015 televote for a reason! However, we’re guessing the woman in the second row at 3:55 must have voted for Måns Zelmerlöw — why else would she be texting during such a dazzling performance?

Afterwards, Piero had a special message for all the fans watching at home:

Thank you very much. We just want to say that we really love this country. It’s our first time, and we can’t wait to see you tomorrow. We came to perform tomorrow in the Palace Sporta. See you there!

This season of Ukraine’s favourite dancing show has had a distinctly Eurovision flavour, even before the three Italian stallions showed up. Eurovision 2017 host Oleksandr Skichko was one of the ten celebrity contestants. Sadly he was the first to be eliminated.

His colleague Volodymyr Ostapchuk joined Eurovision 2006 singer Tina Karol as a guest host during the season premiere, while Eurovision 2013’s Zlata Ognevich presented the fifth episode. Meanwhile, Monatik, the opening act for May’s grand final, sits on the judging panel.

Along with Monatik and Tina, Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala, 2017 interval Onuka, and former national finalists The Hardkiss (2016) and Max Barskih (2012) have all provided musical relief throughout the series.

The Dancing With The Stars Ukraine grand final is scheduled for next weekend.

I share all your comments, just a clarification, IL VOLO made concerts all over the world, not only in Europe, this year they also made 15 concerts in America and 10 in Latin America, now have to make 2 concerts in Japan of which a sold-out in a few days.
It is a great success both for their undeniable skill but also for their great charisma.

They are amazing and I still love this song! I think it will be an all time classic for me. Even after 20 years I’ll still love “Grande amore”!

SO GOOD! Thanks for sharing this, Padraig! WONDERFUL to hear that song in full again (with the second verse included), and wow, haven’t their voices deepened and matured? Just beautiful … 🙂

I doubt the girl texting would have voted for Sweden that year considering Ukraine weren’t in the contest :/

Ukraine’s televote would have given 12 to Italy that year anyway (10 to Russia, 8 to Estonia, 7 to Belgium and 6 to Sweden).

Their juries would’ve pulled a Lithuania and put Russia last, so Italy would’ve finished 2nd. (No justice still because Blånd Zelmerdelöw would have won anyway.)

Exactly. Anyway Il Volo make concerts all across Europe and Måns has only Sweden and maybe Poland. Karma

We know why Mans won, but no one will talk about it. We also know why the juries dragged Italy and Estonia down.

Because in the end, talent always wins. The geepee has spoken, and a bunch of jurors won’t change the people’s real demand.
