Earlier this week Polish Eurovision star Michal Szpak debuted his new single “Don’t Poison Your Heart”. Last night he gave the first live performance, in the grand final of The Voice of Poland.

But Szpak was not alone on stage. As a coach on The Voice, he was joined by his act, Marta Galuszewska. The pair’s performance was one of Marta’s four performances in the grand final.

The pink-haired singer brought her own touch to the song and made the brand new single sound like a rock classic.

Polish fans were quick to pick up on the performance. On YouTube, the duo’s voices have been praised, as has their chemistry. Viewer “MafoX” wrote, “The two of them did something amazing on this stage.”

And of course, it wasn’t long before fans suggested that Marta and Michal should team up for Eurovision. Another viewer reckoned, “Seriously they should be in a duet at Eurovision with this song. Much better than a duet. Beautifully synchronized their voices. This is how two talents meet.”

The power duet worked well for Marta, who went on to win The Voice of Poland. Could her winner’s luck extend to Eurovision?

The song — which is exactly three minutes long — already has fans excited over its potential as Poland’s entry for Eurovision 2018. But could we now see Szpak and Galuszewska bringing their rock duet power to the Lisbon stage?

“Don’t Poison Your Heart” – music video

On Thursday, Szpak released the music video for “Don’t Poison Your Heart”.

Showing off his newly straightened hair, he wanders around an old house and delivers his best blue steel looks to the camera.

A number of hooded figures can be seen moving around in a sinister fashion. Is this some sort of Illuminati plot? No, it’s just Szpak’s backing band, wearing black hoodies.

The video also features a man and women who sit in front of laptops that are ablaze. Is this a reminder not to get involved with internet flame wars?

It remains to be seen what Szpak’s ultimate plan for “Don’t Poison Your Heart” is. But it should be noted that he’s a fan of getting things started early. Szpak first expressed interest in Eurovision 2016 way back in June 2015. In December 2015, he released two potential Eurovision songs — one of which was his eventual Stockholm entry “Color of Your Life”. Could he also be getting an early start on his Eurovision 2018 campaign?

What do you think? Should Michal perform “Don’t Poison Your Heart” as a duet with Marta? Should TVP internally select him? Share your thoughts below!

I believe that it really could work when those 2 great talents perform this song together at Eurovision. Both of them have great voices, amazing charisma and what’s also important for Eurovision – they look amazing. It would be the perfect combination on stage! Talent – Voice – Charisma – Beauty – and awesome song

Their voices complement each other perfectly. Eurovision 2018 Michal with Marta? Why the hell no?! I love this version of the song. Marta is great and Michal is known for the fact that his live versions are better than the recorded ones 🙂

Marta won ‘coz she is amazing. Together they sound great, beautiful voices and that chemistry… I hope they sing together at Eurovision.

If not them, I wish it will be Gromee – Without You ft. Lukas Meijer.

This duet could really work at Eurovision! They clearly do have chemistry on stage and Marta brings another dimension to the song ?

On another note, Nyusha posted an Instagram story of her in the studio with Arash (Azerbaijan 2009). If Russia is making a big comeback this year, could Nyusha potentially be a candidate to represent Russia in 2018?

I’d love them to perform it together at the Eurovision! For me, it was lacking something before, but in a duet with Marta it’ so much better, like it was written for the two of them from the beginning

Of course he should be picked internally, but he would win anyway, because he has sooo many fans in Poland. You think why Marta won yesterday? It’s all up to his fans.
