Waylon Julia van Bergen The Voice of Holland

He’s the Dutch country-rock star who will represent The Netherlands for the second time at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

And while he is definitely going solo at Eurovision 2018, Waylon has teamed up with Junior Eurovision 2014 star Julia van Bergen on the latest series of The Voice of Holland

A few weeks ago the “Around” singer took part in the blind auditions of Series 8, wowing the judges with her take on Justin Bieber’s global hit ‘2U’. All four coaches turned their seats and the acid-blonde teen eventually chose to join Team Waylon.

As you’ll likely know, the Dutch edition of The Voice has a rich history of working with stars from the world of Eurovision.

ESC veterans Jeroen van der Boom (of The Toppers), Anouk, Ilse DeLange, Waylon and Trijntje have all been coaches at various points, and O’G3NE actually won the series before winning us over at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv.

Anouk’s backing vocalist Shirma Rouse also competed on the show a few months after the contest in Malmö.

Julia represented The Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Malta, where she finished eighth with her fierce club track “Around”. Her stage show saw her slip into a gold jacket and stand centre stage while four backing dancers worked their way around her, hailing the EDM queen.

Nowadays Julia is something of a teen icon, focusing on her blogs, vlogs and make-up tutorials. She has 33,000 subscribers on YouTube and on 106,000 on Instagram. With that massive following, producers likely see a star-in-the-making. We know we do!

We wish Julia and Waylon good luck in the weeks ahead! What about you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box down below.

Television in foreign countries are so confusing; I thought it was far too late in the year to still be having auditions.

She and Nadezhda deserved a way higher placement, also her YT channel is more basic than Starbucks.
