More than a month has passed since the Junior Eurovision 2017 final, but Georgia’s JESC 2017 singer Grigol Kipshidze is already jumping head-first into new projects.

And on Monday the JESC jury vote winner revealed that he will sing the theme song to the latest Naughty Children movie. He’s getting ready for New Year’s Eve in style by hitting the big screen!

Grigol celebrated the news with a shout out on Instagram. His video shows him backed by a group of children as he works his impressive vocal range.

The music video was shot at the multi-functional shopping center Galleria Tbilisi, which has been credited with reviving the centre of the city.

Inside the shopping center Grigol wears an orange hoodie and jeans, singing in Georgian. But he doesn’t just sing. He also shows us another side of him, performing both pop and rap flourishes. Along with him are famous Georgian actors including Ruska Makashvili, Nika Grigolia, Jaba Kiladze and more. Grigol more than holds his own with the country’s A-listers, showing an ease and confidence that will serve him well in the years ahead.

Tsotne Chankotadze wrote the lyrics and Zura Menteshashvili directed the video clip.

The first Naughty Children movie was a huge hit in Georgia, with more than a million people watching it on YouTube.

A quick scan of social media shows that his fans are stoked.

“Wow. How many more singing videos before you let us have our peace? We’re all dying of envy!” Instagram user Zahra wrote on Grigol’s page. “Really! We know you’re amazing! Your singing is literally better than anyone I’ve ever heard! Love you!”

GRIGOL KIPSHIDZE AT JUNIOR EUROVISION 2017

Grigol Kipshidze represented Georgia at Junior Eurovision 2017 and came second. He took part in the most recent series of Georgia’s version of The X Factor. Competing against many older acts, he still made it all the way to the final. There’s music in his blood, too, as many of his family are musicians. Grigol also counts himself a big fan of Michael Jackson, which may explain some of the vocal flourishes in his number.

We’ll have to wait until at least 2022 for Grigol to take part in the regular Eurovision.
