The acts continue to be confirmed in France’s Destination Eurovision. The next artist to be confirmed is young songwriter who has recently stepped out on stage. Nassi will compete with the song “Rêve de gamin” (The dream of a child).

Nassi is a singer-songwriter. He originally made a name for himself writing for other artists, such as Soprano, Claudio Capéo, and Kendji Girac.

But Nassi had his own stories to tell and released his first single early in 2017. “La vie est belle” reached the French singles chart and received the equivalent of gold certification for its streaming numbers.

Nassi now has two singles under his belt, and plans to release his debut album later this year.

Nassi is introduced in the promo video, shown in the familiar surrounds of a recording studio, sitting in front of a wall of Gold records. He talks about how he moved away from just being a songwriter and took the risk of making his own music.

Nassi also speaks about Eurovision, and how it ties into the theme of his song, “Rêve de gamin” (The dream of a child).. He says he put himself in the mind of an eight-year-old kid watching Eurovision, being inspired and dreaming big.

The short clip of “Rêve de gamin” reveals a similar sound to his previous singles. It’s sound of modern French chart pop, bold and dramatic, with tender vocals sung in French.

It’s another strong addition to the line-up of Destination Eurovision, which is shaping up to be one of the highest quality national finals in the 2018 season.

DESTINATION EUROVISION – KNOWN COMPETITORS

The first semi airs next Saturday, 13 January. Nine songs will compete in each of the two semi-finals, and four songs from each semi will go to the grand final.

In the meantime, vote in our poll for your favourite of the first nine acts.

Wow! I really like this song!
It’s current and radio friendly. Sounds european yet it has an oriental flavour.
I can see a song like this performing on the Eurovision stage. It would be great!

When will all songs be released on Spotify?

Mako

It seems that the songs won’t be released on Spotify. France 2 didn’t state anything about that. And personally, I don’t see the interest to revealed them on the platform now. It’s better to keep them and to release them after the final, as for the Melodifestivalen.

But they’ll surely be released later on Spotify or Youtube.
