There are so many good songs (and singers), it is almost a waste. They could have done 3 national finals out of this selection, and could have had 3 potential ESC winners 🙂

first semi-final of destination eurovision will be recorded today at 7pm in France, Masoé has already posted a photo of his staging on his twitter: https://twitter.com/MasoeOfficiel
It seems it will be a beautiful show….

I believe that France will blow Melodifestivalen out of the water.

Destination Eurovision – Sanremo – Festival da Canção…I’m all about those this year. Melfest’s lineup doesn’t impress me, last year was already boring imo.

I don’t know why y’all complaining! His song is good and only adds up to probably the best national selection we’ve heard so far. This is how you do diversity Europe! My only issue is “my world” that song if really terrible, but apart from that entry most of the songs are very good. Will any other national selection top this?

  4. Joe
    January 7, 2018 @ 11:57 pm

Not my favorite, but the most Eurovision-friendly of the entries. I could see it doing well in the contest, provided it doesn’t sound too similar to the other entries.

Finally, this was dragging too much over days and days. Couldn’t they just announce the 18 participants just like some other countries? I’m glad those unnecessary announcements about France are finally over, hope they won’t publish the songs one by one. It’s getting really annoying!

    • Mark
      January 8, 2018 @ 2:35 am

It’s called promotion… Yes annoying, but no way near as annoying as Bulgaria.

My Top 8 for the final:
    June The Girl
    Madame Monsieur
    Lisandro Cuxi
    Emmy Liyana

  7. David S
    January 7, 2018 @ 10:16 pm

I realise this is crazy to do this based on 20 second snippets but here goes, for the final (an amazing final): Lisandro Cuxi, Nassi, Masoe, Madame Monsieur, Louka, June the girl, Emmy Liyana, IGIT, and one of Enea, Sarah or Noée

  8. Weißbrot
    January 7, 2018 @ 9:51 pm

So, I’ve made up my mind and my favourites are: Malo, Igit, Nassi and… This guy! I’ve read these comments about how he’s kinda hated in France, but I can’t judge on that…So ,from what I’m hearing, this is a pretty good song! I hope one of my favourites wins, but almost everybody on this selection would have a Chance to enter the top 10. Well done, France.

    • raf
      January 7, 2018 @ 10:39 pm

      I’m French and I didn’t know he was hated :O I wonder if you’re right !
But for me I didn’t like his first song but this one is in my top 5 for sure !

      • Weißbrot
        January 7, 2018 @ 11:39 pm

Well, some People here in the comment section mentioned it, but I don’t know. Why would we care about it anyway? It’s a song contest, that’s what really matters, right? 😀

    January 7, 2018 @ 8:58 pm

I don’t understand why French don’t seem to like him. This snipet smells victory and I would be so hyped if my own country had an entry like that. Ofc we need the full version but it’s already a hit to me. Maybe French people are just being French ? (lol I’m jking)
From my pov France has two options : going full eurovision and choose a pop hit such as Lisandro’s or Nassi’s or go the opposite with a total outsider-like song such as Madame Monsieur (electro touch that can make its effect) or Noée (for the French touch everyone like) . It’s personal but I’d go w/ Lisandro. Let’s see what will be the results in the end

    • CyxCy
      January 7, 2018 @ 10:13 pm

In France, some people are very jealous and like to criticize even without arguments. They don ‘t like winners, they don’t like people who make money, they don’t like mainstream music …

For example, if the winning song is in French, they will say “But you have to sing in English to win Eurovision!”
But if the winning song has lyrics in English, they will say “It’s a shame! We’re French! Let’s sing in French!”

Whether you choose a well-known artist (Patricia Kass), a young talent (Amir) or something totally unexpected (Sébastien Tellier), they are not happy anyway.

Whatever the winner of “Destination Eurovision” they will say “It’s bad, they did it on purpose, they don’t want France to win Eurovision! We’ll finish last!”

But if it ever happened this year, if we finally win, then they will say:

“But it’s anything, it’s going to cost a lot of money and we’ll pay!”

In short, whatever if the winner of “Destination Eurovision”, and whatever his score in the grand finale of Eurovision, they will NEVER HAPPY.

Honestly, when you’re a fan of Eurovision, it’s really depressing to be in a country full of pessimists, defeatists and grumpy people.

      • raf
        January 7, 2018 @ 10:44 pm

XD

        January 8, 2018 @ 6:20 pm

Parts of this sounded like you were describing Germans. (Reading fans’ comments on Facebook, there are lots of pessimists and grumpy people who seem to not be able to support their country at the ESC. Basically there’s always something to nag about. xD)

  10. CyxCy
    January 7, 2018 @ 8:42 pm

I think that the delegation had an elegant idea, because his name was revealed last, which allowed for a few days to shed light on the other contestants (for some less known than him, because for me all the ex of The Voice, winners or not have the same notoriety.)

I think that during the semi the professional jury will be impartial and will vote really according to the quality of the songs.

On the other hand, if Lisandro go to the “Destination Eurovison” final, it’s certain that he has a very important fanbase who will vote for him when the public decides.

I don’t have “à priori” (sorry I’m french) on the candidates, there are just one or two songs that seem a little “dated” in contrast to the modernity of the current music.

My favorites are Sweem and Malo. I don’t think it’s going to bring them luck, it’s never my favorites that win in the contests! XD

    January 7, 2018 @ 8:20 pm

How is this not Top 10 material?? The snippet looks very very very good and I can tell you he is gonna do a show like France never did before

  12. Thomas
    January 7, 2018 @ 7:23 pm

If he was anyone else, every French would scream for a victory. But because he is Lisandro and the Voice winner, the haters are back.
This is BY FAR the best entry and should be a winner potential in ESC

    • Juka
      January 7, 2018 @ 8:19 pm

Yawn. Stop calling everyone a hater just because they have a different opinion. That aint an argument. We can’t judge him either positively or negatively before we hear the song.

      • raf
        January 7, 2018 @ 10:48 pm

No he’s right I dont know if you’re French but I am.
Yes Lisandro have people who don’t like him as a person because he won The Voice. It”s normal…
Nevertheless I find the song incredible even if I didn’t like his first single !

  13. DyGh
    January 7, 2018 @ 7:05 pm

This is the French music we are used to hear outside ESC. This is the French music we need to hear inside the ESC.
Blood will flow in the national final and it will be one big massacre. It’s almost like the Hunger Games or in this case: Les Jeux de la Faim

  14. blondboybc
    January 7, 2018 @ 7:01 pm

My top 3 after hearing all: 1) Mercy-has most potential to do well
    2) Reve de gamin-radio-friendly, catchy
    3) Mama Mia-tapping into the Latin trend

  15. Jerusalem 2019
    January 7, 2018 @ 6:52 pm

My top 5 based on snippets:
    1. Madame Monsieur “Mercy”
    2. Emmy Liyana “OK ou KO”
    3. Nassi “Rêve de gamin”
    4. Sweem “Là-haut”
    5. Louka “Mamma Mia”

    January 7, 2018 @ 6:46 pm

It might be just me, but the snippet gives me Beautiful Mess 2.0 – I just don’t connect with it at all

    • vince
      January 7, 2018 @ 6:55 pm

This is not the same type of music…
So i suppose you’re the only one.
Except they are young and have talent, i dont see connection between them.

  17. Toby
    January 7, 2018 @ 6:45 pm

I am not gonna lie you guys, I wasnt feeling the first snippets that got released, but with every day the french selection got better and better and now I am super mad that only ONE of these masterpieces will represent France.

I love Nassi, Lisandro, Emmy and Masoe. I am so pumbed now, definitely got affected with all the hype. Definitely France will make a Top from what it looks like now. So strong! 🙂 Other countries like Germany should take this selection as an example.

  18. Davidovitsch
    January 7, 2018 @ 6:29 pm

If this one wins it will probably finish somewhere like « requiem » …. def. not a winner material here … hope France will be more strategic and sent « Lisboa Jérusalem » or « Mercy » to improve their last rank….

    • Thomas
      January 7, 2018 @ 6:39 pm

You think Mercy can be in Top 10 or at least do better than Alma ?

      • Kjartan
        January 7, 2018 @ 6:55 pm

I personnaly think Mercy will reach top 10 yes, it’s sophisticated electro-pop with a powerful story and yet it still feels French which is a plus.

      • Davidovitsch
        January 7, 2018 @ 7:04 pm

    • Damn
      January 7, 2018 @ 7:02 pm

I love Lisboa Jerusalem but I also loved L’Enfer et Moi or N’oubliez pas and we all know how it ended.

    • desfolhada
      January 7, 2018 @ 10:16 pm

Same I prefer “Lisboa Jerusalem” or “Merci” too!

  19. PP
    January 7, 2018 @ 6:07 pm

For me one of better song in france selection for Eurovision. Who wili people vote for song in english in France.
For me best 3 songs after listen all snippet
    1.IGIT – “Lisboa Jérusalem”
2.Nassi – “Rêve de gamin song is for me like male version of france song from 2017
    3.Lisandro Cuxi — EVA”

I think winner will be Nassi

  20. Damn
    January 7, 2018 @ 6:00 pm

I hate this guy, he’s so full of himself. But this song is GOLD. It reminds me of old school Justin Timberlake or The Script. It can win Eurovision. But then I would have preferred anyone to sing this song but him!

  21. AngieP
    January 7, 2018 @ 5:54 pm

Sounds promising. Lisandro is such a good singer and performer. I’ve been watching him on the Voice. Definitely another good songs from France.
We now have all the semi finalists of Destination Eurovision! I’m so excited! So many good songs, talented artists, diversity.

  22. Non merci
    January 7, 2018 @ 5:53 pm

    Everybody but him

    • Damn
      January 7, 2018 @ 6:03 pm

      Hate this guy!
This reminds me of old school Justin Timerlake RnB, or Hall of Fame by The Script.
This genre has never really been brought to ESC so I think it can win.
But I reckon if anyone else had sung this song I would have probably jumped off the roof!

    • Alex
      January 7, 2018 @ 6:06 pm

I am not a fan of Lisandro, but this is a SONG contest and the snippet looks lit.

  23. Rile
    January 7, 2018 @ 5:48 pm

This sounds like a chart topping american song! This is a contender!
