Overall a good quality of a national finals, as basically all songs are at least acceptable. Most could be described as okay. My favorites are Azt mondtad, Levegot and Viszlat nyar.

PS. I have a question for the representatives of Gabi Knoll and Patikadomb. You really think that your entries are too good for You Tube or what?

AWS and Living Room are two of three songs that I can bother listening through to the end, and Living Room only barely. I usually prefer synth-heavy music too, so certainly not my typical genres there. I really like yesyes, though it could easily be ruined by a 3 minute edit or sunk by rap vs jury. Fourtissimo and Peet Project have the interesting factor, but not the drive, like Loic Nottet or Aminata had for instance. Everything else sort of blends together like elevator or grocery store music… “Meggyfa” justs reminds me of the Ham ko ham song earlier… Read more »

AWS, Sule Zsolt, Peet Project, yesyes, Fourtissimo, Viktor, Kirakat, BIGA, Ham Ko Ham… SO MANY GOOD SONG! (“Meggyfa” is overrated)

Seeing how many people are saying it’s the favorite, the only one I’ve heard so far is Meggyfa, and I think it could do quite well indeed. At some point, I’ll try to get to the rest, but Meggyfa seems like the right direction to go in. Low-key, but just energized enough to stand out.

Meggyfa by Tamas Horvath will is already is starting to top the charts in Hungary. I think it will be a clear winner…and Hungary definitely will go to the final.

Maybe it’s because I’m not very fond of some genres that are most loved by Eurovision fans (dramatic ballads, anthems and club bangers), but I have a very different opinion from most who commented here. I like the selection. I won’t say I listened to a winner (I think that Origo is better than any of them), but I like the diversity and the honesty of the songs. Nobody is trying to follow a hit formula or pushing a win, they’re just making music and I love that. My favorites: AWS – “Viszlát nyár” Gabi Knoll – “Nobody to Die… Read more »

Fourtissimo – “Kisnyuszi a kalapban”
AWS – “Viszlát nyár” – are my favorites. Not so crazy about this selection this year, I have always enjoyed A Dal, this year is more “A Dull”. I just hope for a first metal song in Eurovision, and I love Fourtissmo’s Electra Swing catchy style.

AWS is best music wise. Technically too. Hope it wins so the contest is not full of bland songs.

Meggyfa all the way!
Already almost 2M on youtube. Not even a contest. It’s so good.
Hungarians love authenticity so I’m confident that will be their choice.

My faves are:
Yesyes – “I Let You Run Away”
Reni Tolvai – “Crack My Code”
Gabi Knoll – “Nobody to Die For”
Noémo – “Leveg?t!” – and this is also my number 1
There isn’t any Hoszzu Idok this year, but I really like my top 4, and I need to see live performances to judge them better.

Again, I disagree with the majority. Not as awesome as France or Czechia, but I prefer this to Eesti Laul or Romanian national selection. There are some good songs, yesyes not being one of them 🙂

Eesti Laul is so bad this year… There are like 3 Songs that are good, but that’s it. I also think Romania is pretty meh. Nothing too great… But Hungary is not disappointing me this year and I don’t get all the negative comments.

There a lot of average songs this year, some are good some are not. Last year was way stronger! My favourite for a while has been Yesyes – “I Let You Run Away”. They bring something current that we haven’t seen that much in Eurovision, it also has cool lyrics. I think it’s a difficult song to sing, so the live performance will make the difference here. For now, it has high chances of winning and qualifying for the Grand Final. I haven’t listened in full to all of them, but I don’t know if the other songs could qualify.… Read more »

I just realised Patikadomb – “Jó szelet!” wasn’t on the Youtube playlist. But I like it sooo… this is my updated top 5:

1. Yesyes – “I Let You Run Away”
2. Nova Prospect – “Vigyázó”
3. Patikadomb – “Jó szelet!”
4. Peet Project – “Runaround” (I was expecting something different from the snippet and I don’t like the sax, but it’s still one of the best entries…)
5. BIGA – “Good Vibez” (this song is missing in the poll, I think)

Really underwhelming this year. Not just because of styles but the whole piece is just uneventful… However, one gem that grabbed my attention since december and yet today made me look back at screen was: Noémo – Leveg?t! Such a well-thought pured piece with simple praise of nature. Pity it’s longer than required for contest… I’d also add #yeahla feat. Viki Eszes – 1 Szó Mint 100 – well produced and stylish. May not be the most grabbing but creates nice summerbreeze feel to it. AWS’s rough stuff and ‘Meggyfa’ (a likely femme slayer) are worthy to note as well.… Read more »

AWS is the only song I’ve replayed to death, which means I’d vote for it. I loved O.Torvald last year, and I hope Hungary sends AWS this year. The A38 live recording on youtube tells me enough about their live shows to say they’ll be brilliant.

Well, I can already see the Hungarian entry won’t be a fan favourite once again, but they’ll do well in May. There are so many quality entries in this selection. I love a lot of the songs, super diverse batch too.

My favourites (in random order)
Gergely Dánielfy – “Azt mondtad”
Peet Project – “Runaround”
Leander Kills – “Nem szól harang”
Nova Prospect – “Vigyázó”
Tamás Horváth – “Meggyfa”
Yesyes – “I Let You Run Away”
Gabi Knoll – “Nobody to Die for”
AWS – “Viszlát nyár”
Tamás Vastag – “Ne hagyj reményt”

I just took a quick listen, nothing really stands out. Budapest 2019 ain’t happening…
I liked:
-Ham ko Ham – “Bármerre jársz”
-Living Room – “Kirakat élet”
But I’ll listen to all the finalists again before the grand final.
Let me say, after Origo, this is a big let down.

There is just one option here really: Yesyes! And I am saying YAAAAS! That song is sooo freaking good and it stays in my head for sooo long now, its a great song. I am usually not for that type of rock-ish music, but its combination of folk, pop, rock works so well and the singer .. is hot. That helps doesnt it?

An other stand out is Crack my code, I like its weirdness, but its modern touch to it. 🙂 Good luck to these two.

I’m getting kinda hyped about AWS since this is really my Kind of Music, that I listen to on a daily Basis. However, I highly doubt, that they’re gonna make it to Eurovision. It’ll probably be too different for the and that’s alright. I’m not really sure if AWS would even be succesful at all if they went to Lisbon, but I definitly wan them to win.

I have to say that I Let You Run Away I think is the only song Hungary can qualify with this year. It’s a shame since Origo was my winner last year so I had high expectations.
