Earlier this week STB revealed the 18 acts competing in Vidbir 2018 — Ukraine’s national selection for Eurovision.

And today Ruslan Quinta — music producer of this year’s show — conducted the semi-final allocation and running order draw with his team in Kyiv. The results are as follows.

Vidbir 2018: Semi-Final 1 (10 February)

  1. Constantine
  2. Serhii Babkin
  3. Laud
  4. Kazka
  5. The Vyo
  6. Kozak System
  7. Vil’na
  8. Pur: Pur
  9. The Erised

Vidbir 2018: Semi-Final 2 (17 February)

  1. Ingret Kostenko
  2. Melovin
  3. Julinoza
  4. Tayanna
  5. Kadnay
  6. Yurcash
  7. Mountain Breeze
  8. Illaria
  9. Dilemma

The 18 acts will battle it out in two semi-finals on 10 and 17 February. The six qualifying acts will go on to the grand final on 24 February.

They will face the judging panel of JamalaAndriy “Verka Serduchka” Danylko and music producer Eugene Filatov, along with a public televote.

Returning to the contest will be 2017 runner-up Tayanna. Last year her emotional ballad and jury favorite “I Love You” narrowly missed out winning on a tiebreak. Tayanna earlier held a public vote to select her song for Vidbir, but she will reportedly instead enter an entirely new track.

Also returning is X Factor winner Melovin. He placed third last year and also topped the televote with his track “Wonder”. The popular singer and novelty contact lens fan will reportedly perform the song “Under the Ladder”.

Illaria placed fourth last year with her dreamy love song “Thank You For My Way”.  She is another returning act, perhaps hoping to better her 2017 result.

The electro-pop group Kadnay narrowly missed out making the grand final last year with their song “Freedom In My Mind” and avant-garde art-pop group Pur:Pur placed fourth in 2016 with “We Do Change”. They are both back for another shot.

Mel (MÉLOVIN) didn’t have and doesn’t have ANY producer, he writes his songs and creates performance stuff on stage all by himself and inspired by his fans, the guy deserves respect! He’s very sincere with his audience. I think this year’s song is great, and the whole lineup is better, so we’ll see the sfs in February! Also looking forward to hear the unreleased entries

Melovin, Pur:Pur, Kadnay were all crappy on their last tries, so I’m not joining in on the fanteam just based on that, they better step up their games this time. Tayanna and Illaria weren’t good either in 2017 selection, but atleast Tayanna has been good afterwards with her EP and I know Illaria is great, she just needs to stay true to herself. So far I’ve only heard Kazka, and if none of the others will add anything better, I’d say Kazka should be chosen. I really cross my fingers that Illaria will release something in her own style, then… Read more »

Just by notorious names, returnies and show’s contestants it’s undeniably stronger line-up than last year. 3 spots out of 9 for diverse 1st semi and for 2nd semi with returnies battle. Already dramatic.

The na na na na in Kazka’s song is mildly annoying but it’s a great tune. The Erised are also very interesting, I can’t wait to see what they bring.

If KAZKA dont win I will riot. “Syvata” is better than their song for the selection but I still love their song and hope they win

I don’t want to be influenced by already known names like Melovin or Tannaya…. The best song should win, not some Tannaya just because she didn’t win last year. If she has the best song, go for it! But if not, then you shouldn’t vote for her imo.
