On Monday, Ana beat Agoney to become the last solo contestant to secure a spot in Spain’s Eurovision gala.

And on Tuesday, Operacion Triunfo producers kept the train rolling by sharing snippets of the nine songs competing to represent Spain at Eurovision 2018.

There will be a total of nine potential Eurovision entries in next week’s Eurovision gala. Aitana, Alfred, Amaia, Miriam and Ana will each perform a solo number, and Miriam and Agoney, Amaia and Alfred, Aitana and Ana Guerra will pair up to perform three duets. The five finalists will also perform a five-piece version of “Camina” — the OT 2017 anthem.

On Thursday, we were finally able to hear the full songs for the first time as the students undertook their first round of vocal rehearsals.

You can watch all nine performances below. You’ll note that unlike the others, Alfred didn’t perform his solo effort in front of the teachers and composers. This was to give him time to work on a new arrangement and lyrics.

After you’ve listened to the nine clips, you can vote in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you like, but you can only vote ONE time.

Be sure to check the box next to every act you want to support before submitting your votes. Voting ends on Sunday 28 January — just ahead of the Eurovision Gala on Monday.

There are four songs that would crush at Eurovision in my opinioin: Tu Cancion, Arde, Lo Malo, and Lejos de tu Piel. I also think El Remedio could do good but lets be honest one of the four need to win.

It is gonna be a race between “Tu Canción” and “Arde”, both songs are master pieces!! Good luck Spain!

Arde is so sophisticated and the delivery is spectacular even as Aitana is singing through a demo!!!!
definitely would like to see that song at eurovision (and I’m rarely a fan of spanish ESC entries)

“Tu Canción”… OBVIOUSLY!

This is the only song that gets them to the left side of the board.

Spain should choose ‘Lo malo’. It’s very catchy and modern.

Amaia & Alfred made me cry when I listened to their song. It had not happened to me with the rest of the songs, so my favourite is ‘Tu canción’. Vote for them! ??

I am disappointed from Spain! Ana and the duet Miriam & Agoney are the best entries and should represent the country in Lisbon. The other entries – except the team song – are trivial or lullabies.

I can’t get why so many NFs opt to iclude songs simiar to Sobral’s? Isn’t it clear and obvious that Salvador won last year hugely becase of his quirky personality, his movements and gestures, plus his story. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good song, I liked it a lot, but it would have never won if it’d been sung by someone else!!!
Arde is a beautiful song, but it won’t do well.

I don’t have enough faith in eurofans to believe that Salvador Sobral won because of his story or whatever. I think it’s the other way around: if it wasn’t for the song, people would’ve mocked him (even more) just like they did PNK, Yulia Samoilova, that girl from England 2015, etc.

Also, for every Amar Pelos Dois 2.0. there’s gonna be like ten Despacitos 2.0., so yeah.

ten despacitos? Yeah because everyone can speak spanish. After hearing Nfs so far, they’re just typical pop songs. But there ballads similar to Sobrals.

Mil, i love his song but i agree. He was a ‘character’ just like Conchita was, they had a huge stage presence and Salvador gave us something different from everyone else, musically and visually speaking. He didnt use a damn piano, he didnt need LEDS or a duet, it was just him with simple clothes.

Some people will be inspired and try to copy, specially musically, but they will never be able to do what he did.

I absolutely love these songs. Very well done, Spain!

My top 5:
1. Aitana – “Arde” 10/10
2. Alfred & Amaia – “Tu canción” 9/10
3. Agoney & Miriam – “Magia” 8/10
4. Amaia – “Al cantar” 8/10
5. Aitana & Ana – “Lo Malo” 7/10

I have to give those songs another listen before I can decide which ones I like. Right now, I‘m actually a bit more worried about vocals and stage presence. They look like a rather average assembly of talent search puppets. One can tell that they‘ve been coached to death (with little success). Still, charisma is nothing you can learn through coaching sessions.

Overall, I’m really pleased with all the songs and how they sound in full and live. There are some things that need to be fixed, instrumentally and vocally, but they are working on it and it’s Thursday yet. I’m sure the show on Monday is going to be great. We have the best Spanish Preselection in years. I think we have two standouts here: Almaia’s “Tu Canción” and Aitana’s “Arde”. Those are my favs too and I really think our representant will be one of them. I personally prefer “Arde”, but I would be happy with “Tu Canción”. My third… Read more »

No. They’re not good or decent. They’re bad and that’s why you cannot connect with them. Most of the songs are bad. The only half decent one with some remote potential of doing OK at Eurovision is Lo Malo.

The more I listen to the songs, the more I am convinced that “Arde” is the best of the bunch by far. “Tu Cancion” works due to their great chemistry, but “Arde” plays in a league on its own. In any case, any of these two could deliver a very memorable Eurovision performance.

Sabrina

I knew I would love “Arde”! Amaia is hiper super mega lovely, but my favorite singer on Operación Triunfo is Aitana. I wouldn’t say it’s the best song to Eurovision, but it’s the one I would love to listen over and over. The rehearsals confirmed my impression that “Tu Canción” and “Lo Malo” are the big contenders. Amaia and Alfred voices’ blend very well and they have huge chemistry. Also, it seems that a big part of the audience wants them to be a thing. So… I believe they tend to win. The balladophobics will be very whiny and cranky… Read more »

I dont see this duett in TOP 15 in eurovision final, predict from 16 to 20 place, like I don t see maybe Amaia solo in TOP 15 or even TOP 20 in eurovision final. prediction from 18 to 24 place in final.

If we get a bad position, we will accept it if they do it properly. The thing is we can’t send a song as ‘Lo malo’ just because Europeans think that’s our typical music. It’s not! I could accept that people consider flamenco spanish but this latin style comes from America Latina and even if we speak the same language, we don’t have the same culture. I will support the song chosen, no matter which one it is,but for me, as from many people, ‘lo malo’ is just another song to listen in a disco as the thousands we already… Read more »

1.Lo Malo
2.El Remedio
3.Tu Cancion

Tu Canción, Arde, Lo Malo and Que Nos Sigan Las Luces are all very strong candidates, I’m amazed with the level of this preselection, I still don’t know what my favourite is, probably Tu Canción, is a bit cheesy but it does has a lot of magic, on the other hand Lo Malo is really addictive and different, Arde is delicate, minimalistic with a modern production and a very special voice and Que Nos Sigan Las Luces has a brilliant chorus and sounds like a very radiofriendly indie song that could actually work in Eurovision. Monday is gonna be exciting.

“Tu Cancion” is such a heartfelt entry thanks to our lovely couple. It’s just beautiful and touching.

“Lo Malo” is a Bop. It gets addictive. We love Trap and Reggeaton here and this song slays. It’s made for our Spotify and clubs.

The rehearsals can’t give us a full idea of how the whole performance will be. We are able to listen to the songs. The performance is sth we’ll have to wait until Monday.

About the songs, I have to say this, Alfred and Amaia sounds so so so beautiful in this duet. It’s a ballad but I don’t think it would work with a solo artist. This can only work with 2 people singing.

No other song impressed me so far. I’ll wait till Monday.

Producers clearly have a preference here cause all the songs are TERRIBLE except “Tu Cancion.” It’s not a ESC winner. I’d laugh if this song gets #2 in the final running order in Lisbon. Absolutely NONE of them look like a star and appear gullible.

“Camina” reminds me of the really old Big Brother theme that was used in a few worldwide editions.

ANA!!! Give me Ana, alone or in duet with Aitana, but she’s gotta go to Eurovision. Both her songs I really dig. At first I was more into “El Remedio” but seeing the first rehearsal of “Lo Malo” with Aitana, it made me really like that one perhaps even more than “El Remedio” now. As for the rest, I really don’t care about them other bitches. Their songs are boring af. Although I guess they’re ok if you want to put someone to sleep. Would make for nice lullabies.
