Last night the first show took place of San Marino’s new national final 1 In 360. The 11 competing artists performed different versions of the 14 songs written for the national final. Next week we’ll see 11 different version of the songs and the judging panel will select the best versions to compete in the national final on 3 March.

But which were the best performances from the first show? Listen to the 11 performances and have your say in our poll. As always, you can vote for as many acts as you like, but you can only vote once — so make your vote count!

And remember: in first two shows, the songs are performed in stripped-down acoustic versions. The full version of each song will be heard in the national finals.

Camilla North – “Free Yourself”

Emma Sandström – “Diamonds”

Franklin Calleja – “Best Years of Our Lives”

Giovanni Montalbano – “Per quello che mi dai”

I keep my fingers pressed for Jenifer! She already has an individual style and the song is not mainstream, but it has a potential hit recognition.

Jennifer is my favorite. Her voice will be shown off better with a better song. The song isn’t dynamic enough for this sort of competition. Just wait.

I think all interpreters of this selection are already good.
However, my personal favorite is Jenifer Brening.
She captivates with her voice and charisma.
Incidentally, she is still an excellent composer and copywriter.

A couple of good songs here. Wasn’t expecting this from San Marino. Well done!

1. Sara de Blue got my vote

I also like Camilla, Emma, Franklin and Jessika feat Irol, in no particular order.

I must say that I LOVED “Who we are”. It’s the only song that got me tapping my feet and humming the tune some hours afterwards. I didn’t like “Stuck without me” that much in terms of the song itself, but anyway I love how IROL and Jessica’s voices sound together.
Emma has got a beautiful voice, but the song is quite generic. Camilla’s song was very nice but somehow I can’t picture it on the Eurovision stage.

Camilla should definitely win. She seems so kind and driven but most importantly for this contest has a KILLER beautiful voice that has and will continue to touch so many! She would put on such an amazing show in San Marino. I can’t wait to see how far she will go.
We are rooting for you from Canada!!

Giovanni is also very good. His song plays to his vocal strengths a lot and could get the Italian vote easily.

I’ve only heard Jessika feat. IROL so far and I really like it. If they go with it they’d need to revamp it a bit (acoustic probably wouldn’t work as well) but it’s got a good energy. That just need a killer song/singer combo to escape the semis this year.

Well done to all who performed on this show. The high point was the quality of the music and the singing. 🙂 In terms of presentation, this was a very unusual show. The language was English (except when it wasn’t), there was no apparent audience (live or otherwise), there were quirky presenters who at times were bordering on parody, and the judges were a unique mixture of experts. At times it came across as a serious documentary, and sometimes it was just pure comedy. The moments where the judge had to “collect his thoughts”, and when the presenter asked members… Read more »

Send IROL to Lisbon OMG! He is Sanmarinese, he is great rapper, he has own style and great songs! He will stand out at Eurovision! Why they should choose Finnish or Zimbabwe singers, when they have so great rapper? Send him 4times like Valentina, you don’t need search foreign singers abroad!

“Jessika feat. Irol” sounds better to me. But “Irol feat. Jessika” doesn’t, Jessika’s part isn’t very good in this one. Emma is cute, but her song isn’t strong.
In general, Irol rules.

Really hope Emma isn’t winning just because she is a fan favourite, because even though I love her, her song isn’t great. Sara de blue definitely had the best song and her voice is beautiful.
Jessica feat IROL was great to

Sara De Blue or both of Jessika and IROL’s songs. As much as I would love to see IROL at Eurovision I think Sara De Blue would do the best. Her song and look are very striking. I think she or IROL could definitely do San Marino wonders!

IROL and Jessika were great both times. There is something cool in mixing the two languages and styles.

His rap in ‘Stuck without me’ is identical to his song Decollo, which was released in may 2017. I’m not sure, but I think it would violate the rules (Not to mention that Decollo sounds a 1000 times better)..

I wouldn’t say cheated – some of them have same songs. For example the song Free Yourself is sung by Camilla North and Tinashe Makura, song Until the Morning Light by Jenifer Brening and Sara de Blue. They really didn’t bother to write 22 original songs.

That IS the same song in two languages. In heat two, some of them will swap songs, while others will have completely new songs.

Yes – its part of the format of the show, athough this could perhaps have been made clearer from the outset. I would like to have seen something of the creative songwriting and rehearsing that they all did too. But great to have the live music.
As I understand it, we will get full studio versions of the 11 songs that will be performed in the final – but it will most likely not be 11 *different* songs, based on the format of Semi 1.
