Alfred and Amaia Spain Eurovision 2018

They slipped down the rankings in our last poll. But today, Spain’s Alfred & Amaia are back on top — they are your favourite Eurovision 2018 act so far.

The “Tu canción” couple scooped up 1,473 votes (26.43%). And while that’s down slightly on their tally from the last poll, it was enough to return them to first place in the rankings.

Spain: Alfred & Amaia “Tu canción”

After a succession of third place finishes, France’s Madame Monsieur rise up to second place in the poll. The “Mercy” duo garnered 1,263 votes (22.66%).

France: Madame Monsieur “Mercy”

The Czech Republic is also on the rise. Mikolas Josef reaches a new high of third place. “Lie To Me” picked up 736 votes (13.2%)

Following on from her You Decide win earlier this week, the UK’s SuRie debuts at four. A total of 630 votes (11.3%) went to the “Storm” songstress.

Meanwhile, previous poll favourite Albania’s Eugent Bushpepa tumbles down to fifth. Malta and Switzerland bring up the rear.

Malta finished last? That’s sad. I really like their entry and have it second behind Spain. Oh well, it’s looking like Malta will be one of those entries that I absolutely love but few others do. (But much can change between now and May.)

I get that some people here always drag Spain, but damn people, this year THEY’RE MAKING A GOOD EFFORT FOR ONCE! And you just keep dragging them. “Tu Canción” is a song with a message, and it’s simplicity, is what makes it shine over whatever comes our way. Manel was a disaster at the end, although they tried the best to manage it; Barei was not allowed to be as creative as she wanted to be, and the staging was disastrous, the running order also killed it. Edurne was an epic song but with another lackluster staging. ESDM = Raquel… Read more »

Spanish song has an ok melody, but the singers make it so over the top corny, mawkishly sentimental and so but so mushy-gushy. I hate it for that.

I’m not Spanish and I don’t live in Spain, so I will be able to vote for Spain if I choose to. I understand that some fans were disappointed when Tu Canción was chosen, because they prefered Lo Malo. I liked Lo Malo better as well, but I think Tu Canción is a good song too, and though it isn’t a winning song, it should do much better than Manel Navarro did. The Albanian song. At first I wasn’t feeling it, I just thought Eugent was a fine performer and that was it. Now, the more i listen to it,… Read more »

Storms is beginning to grow on me, I do think that it needs a revamp, but with dynamic and ethereal staging this could elevate. We need to wait to Late-april until we find out if the UK flops or gains momentum. We all know that the UK can do revamps well and can deliver on staging so fingers crossed. My Top 7. 1. Albania: Eugent Bushpepa “Mall” 7.5/10 2. Switzerland: Zibbz “Stones” 7/10 3. United Kingdom: SuRie “Storm”* 6.75/10 4. Czech Republic: Mikolas Josef “Lie To Me” 6/10 5. Malta: Christabelle “Taboo” 4.5/10 6. France: Madame Monsieur “Mercy” 4.5/10 7.… Read more »

I hate to see how ignorant some people are… Ok, obviously there were some spaniards who voted for their country, but I’m sure most of the votes are coming from the foreign fans just like me. I don’t care what others think or say, the song is too beautiful and I like to see them performing together. They look amazing.

My top 7 so far:
1. France 9/10
2. Spain 8.5/10
3. Albania 7.5/10
4. United Kingdom 7/10
5. Czech Republic 7/10
6. Switzerland 6/10
7. Malta 3/10

I personally believe and agree with the rest who voted that the song “Tu canción” is the most appealing of all the song selected so far. It is purely magical. Beautifully arranged. It also showcases the remarkable sound of the Spanish language for a non speaker myself. On first listen you don’t have to understand what the song is all about for you to feel the song. Also add the couple’s on stage chemistry which is so apparent in their performance, this has the potential to reach out to a wider international audience for sure. They have a well packaged… Read more »

I’m not Spanish and voted for their entry as well as France’s one. Please continue to disregard this evidence and say it’s only spaniards who are voting. I think I recall the same being said about us portuguese last year *wink wink* Maybe you’ll have another surprise for the third year in a row. Nuestros hermanos <3

Tu Canción is a sweet song, and I like Alfred & Amaia, but c’mon, be realistic.. That song won’t bring a huge success for Spain, and it will NOT WIN!
Lo Malo would be a better choice for them.

And btw why is Malta always so underrated?! I mean she doesn’t have to lead that poll, but placing last?! Seriously?

But Spain has tried everything in the last years. An act like Almaia is the last option for Spain. I do think they deserve to do well, especially for being the most honest act. Spain loves it without thinking about ESC.

”’Lo malo”? Are you being serious? Do you really think People would either vote for an average generic spanish mid-tempo song without anything Special than for ”Tu cancion”? Well…

Well, Spain is my second favourite (after France) so far, but I did not vote for it because I knew this was going to happen. :p But I really like Spanish song, beautiful melody and cute singers, just adorable.

I like Spanish song, and I’m not from Spain. It is sweet, I hope they will be dressed like bride and groom on the big stage. After all, this wedding theme worked for SunStrokeProject.

Just kidding, Spain is cute I’m fine with it! 😀 I don’t know why everybody is so salty about Spain… Just because France isn’t first, or why? Spain is my 2nd after Czech Republic…. The only important thing is that Albania isn’t first because of some ”weird coincidence” again. ^^

It’s such a funny coincidence and stuff

Really, tho, I voted for France and it doesn’t look like I will change my mind, at least after Denmark and Italy choose

Good results. sadly, no matter what haters will say this is rigged by spanish eurofans. no chance for these two young singers to be treated fairly.

Mi top 3:
1. France
2. Spain
3. UK (guilty pleasure material)

I don’t care about the other 4 songs. Hoping denmark to select Whigfield tonight
