dottermelodifestivalen2018semifinal3

All eyes will be on Sweden’s third largest city Malmö tonight. Semi-final 3 of Melodifestivalen 2018 takes place at the city’s arena, which played host to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Two acts will qualify direkt til final, while two will meet their destiny in two weeks time at Andra Chansen. Three acts will advance no further than the Malmö Arena stage.

On Thursday we asked you who you thought should win Semi-Final 3 of Melodifestivalen 2018. Y’all chose Dotter as your favourite to win the heat. She won 520 votes, or 36% of the total cast.

That’s not quite as convincing a victory as you gave her before you’d heard the snippet of “Cry”: when we asked who you were most excited to see you gave Dotter the win with 45% of all votes cast.

The other act you think should head direkt til final is veteran Melfest golden girl Jessica Andersson, who won 278 votes or 19% of all cast.

It seems “Party Voice” lived up to your early expectations, as Jessica only slipped a % point between our two polls.

Melfest newcomer Barbi Escobar, who has the unenviable task of performing second in semi-final 3, has moved up a place into third with 201 votes (14% of all cast). Two-time Melfest contestant Mendéz rounding out the top four on 13%.

If things pan out as your predicting, that would make Méndez the first male act in Andra Chansen, and make Dotter and Jessica Andersson the first female acts to make the final.

Of the bottom three acts, only Martin Almgren made it into double figures, on 10% of votes cast. Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän and Moncho are on 4% and 3% respectively.

Melodifestivalen 2018 Semi-Final 3 act you’re most excited for results:

  1. Dotter with”Cry” 520 (36%)
  2. Jessica Andersson with “Party Voice” 278 (19%)
  3. Barbi Escobar with “Stark” 201 (14%)
  4. Méndez with “Everyday” 190 (13%)
  5. Martin Almgren with “A Bitter Lullaby” 147 (10%)
  6. Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän with”Min dröm” 51 (4%)
  7. Moncho – “Cuba Libre” 42 (3%)

You can watch Semi-Final 3 of Melodifestivalen 2018 live on SVT1 from 20:00CET. Later today, you’ll also be able to hear the 2.30 minute snippets of each song too.

She’d better. I wasn’t excited when my friend described it as “Issues by Julia Michaels 2.0” because I don’t like the song, but when I heard it I was truly blown away–unlike Julia she can actually sing plus the production is interesting.

I’d be very disappointed if someone like Mendez took the final place. His song needs to stay in 2011 with that tired melody and those overused rhymes.

Amazed to see that Wiwilovers, usually a schlager loving crowd who only wants Sweden to send schlagers, likes something modern for once. The world is still in once piece..

Dotter’s snippet was so disappointing. It could really crash hard. Martin Almgren seems to have a solid entry in a poor quality Melfest. He could do quite well tonight and go direct to final.

Dotter does have the best song of this semi final, but the audience poll results say, that she’ll might not make it directly… These polls have been very reliable the last two Shows….

I really want to Dotter to go direct to the final. Cry has been the best song from any of the Semi Finals so far.

I think you’re all overhyping this song.

Dotter has the best song. But I think she will flop like Loreen last year. I hope I’m wrong. Go Dotter!
