Hej Sverige! The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — has taken the long journey across the Öresund Bridge and is in Sweden, ready to review the competing qualifiers in Melodifestivalen 2018.

We’re starting with the eight songs who will be battling it out in the andra chansen round on 3 March. First up is Swedish Idol alum Renaida and her song “All the Feels”. Were we feeling it? Read on to find out!

Renaida – “All the Feels”

“All the Feels” reviews

Antranig: Renaida has a gravelly voice that gives “All the Feels” so much texture. Her voice turns this song from a standard pop track to something a bit more special. As for her dance moves, that’s what really completes the package. This might come across as a bit average without the stage show because it isn’t an amazing song on its own. But Renaida knows what she is doing — this is the first time anybody ever staged a Eurovision pop drop correctly.

Score: 8/10

Cinan: WERK IT, HONEY! She is one of the best personalities in Melfest for me. The song is absolutely amazing for me, though the staging wasn’t all that impressive.

Score: 7.5/10

Deban: Urban, yet radio-friendly. It is street, yet so Spotify — “All the Feels” transcends Melodifestivalen. Renaida captivates you from the very start, and just when you thought that it couldn’t get any better, she pop-drops the tune and joins a pack of hot male dancers. This is a great example of a song that works well in both audio and visual forms.

Score: 7.5/10

Robyn: “All the Feels” comes across like a lot of adequate parts that aren’t adding up to a good enough whole. Renaida is a great performer, the song has a fresh modern feeling and the staging works. But is it right for Eurovision? The pop-drops create an instrumental chasm that breaks the momentum of the song. Yeah, it’s on trend, but it’s not a style that necessarily works with Eurovision.

Score: 6.5/10

Ron: I love Renaida’s unique voice —  she brings something fresh to the stage. Although she is not loose enough during her performance, she still delivers (almost) all the feels to the audience. This song has a great vibe and rhythm that it deserves a spot in the final. I hope it will only get better.

Score: 7.5/10

Tobias: I’m totally into this African/exotic/pop mix of “All the Feels“. It gives me a good rush in my body and I feel like to stand up and dance to it. It has been a long time since this kind of genre took part in Melodifestivalen so it makes me very happy to finally see this. I don’t see the song as winning material but I’m pretty sure it will be added to many of Swedish people’s Spotify lists.

Score: 7/10

This is the best dance number to come out of This Melodifestivalen without a doubt.
I quite like this and has clever use of dance breaks. Vocals not great but yeah still amongst the better ones in this line-up.
A 7.5/10

by far my favorite song out of sweden this year idk maybe robyn and i are of different generations or something but those instrumental breaks are everything! i see people making comparisons to ‘legends’ and it’s obvious that that song crashed out because asanda was singing and dancing through the whole song–it’s just totally exhausting to do that for three minutes. the breaks in ‘all the feels’ give renaida the room to breathe and to execute her performance f l a w l e s s l y basically the song goes hard and i love it, esc 2018 needs… Read more »

Yeah it’s not easy to dance and song at the same time, but it’s not impossible and if you want to sing a song like that you should know how. Tayanna, Lea Sirk and even Raya from UK, all dance, but don’t miss the note.

Would be an acceptable Melfest filler but this year, this is actually going to Andra Chansen. That is just not right. “Legends” from the UK was a better song of a similar style for me.

Didn’t like the studio cut but she makes it work live. Wouldn’t mind seeing her in the final.
